Hmm... I often notice that not a whole lot of people... at least younger people, listen to anything acoustic or folk. I, somewhere along the line, because obsessed with the acoustic. So... who are your favorites? I'd say... Leo Kottke Keller Willams Tommy Emmanuel Merle Travis Chet Atkins Jerry Reed Adrian Legg Robert Johnson Roger McGuinn Mississippi John Hurt
Jeff Black. he's rather obscure, unfortunately, but i find his music very soul-stirring and it touches on very important things, some of a very personal nature. He supposedly has 3 albums, but i have only one: "B-sides and confessions". I must get the others. It's not traditional folk music, but rather a cross-genre of folk, rock, blues, etc... Oh, and I do play accoustic guitar (though not very well). The piano was my instrument, but the guitar is something I just started messing around with recently.
Jethro Tull is my favorite without a doubt but i also enjoy Neil Young, Gordon Lightfoot, Donovan, Gentle Giant are all great as well.
acustic music is so good... like joni mitchel and neil young, of course i am missing tons of good musicains but i would like to point out that acustic zeppelin fucking blows my mind.:H
I love Mississippi John Hurt!!! And Bob Dylan, Neil Young, David Crosby, Steven Stills, Graham Nash, Joni Mitchel, Richie Havens, Donovan, John Prine, Arlo Guthrie, Woody Guthrie...The majority of what I listen too is acoustic stuff...
