    pot
yup..pot is the best medicine there is for pms
but there are many others that help as well, but it depends on your particular symptoms
many women experience pms quite differently
for instance pot will do nothing for bloating, but helps calm the crazies and helps with cramps
the best methof though for treatting pms would be ingestion instead of smoking

oh waut your chinese? i'd check the severity of the laws there 1st, i know some asian countries have very insane anti herb laws
st johns wort then ive heard alot of good things about
i think theres even some acupressure points that help too

or u could gothe med route and just take some midol or whatever

I've never really dated or befriended a girl with PMS (the mental/emotional side of it)..to the point where it almost has retreived myth status to me. I think it is simply mind over matter. most girls can master the negative traits (the mental/emotional ones) of their monthly cycles. obviously not cramps all the time.

and thats my own experience so don't take it personally. I don't claim to know anything outside my own realm (few dozen girls) and realize there is a whole world out there to refute me. I could be wrong and always remain open. Maybe I have simply been lucky or know how to treat girls with PMS to the point where it seems they are not dealing with it.

hmm well partialy ithinkyour maybe just not observent of it?
but..ithink also theres a thing going on that well ok, women when theyre pms'ing deal with alotta pain & disconfort and hormonal changes, and it makes them feel bitchy like being forced to sit in an unconfortable position with needles poking u everhere might make u feel unconfy and bitchy
doesnt mean they act outrightly emotional and bitchy althointernaly they feel it
on the other hand, any show of emotionality or if they get upset theyre accused of pms so bitchiness and pms get that mental link
but only some actualy get bitchy through pms
but hell..i get bitchy from a toothache or headache alot too

dont worry bout the facialskin, your skin glows with somuch beauty you could use a few pimples :)
    joke
chocolate seems to make sence, its a happy drug after all
i was assumming you were talking about the cramps and pain
pot is good for the moodiness if u can get it, but if not, perhaps valarian tea, maybe st johns wort and if its real bad sculcap
sculcap might be too much though unless theres alot of nervouseness with the moodiness

motherwort tea. it tastes pretty nasty, I like to combine it with other herbs like red raspberry leaves and nettles (both of which are also very good for women).

wild yam cream can also help even out the hormones, I noticed it really helped with my pms symptoms (all of them, not just the moods).

If I use valerian, I don't take it internally, but rather use it as aromatherapy instead. It just makes me want to sleep.

My doc suggested 50 miligrams per day of vitamin B6 to help even out the mood swings caused by hormonal fluctuations. You can get that either through dietary choices (I don't know off the top of my head which foods are rich in B6) or through vitamin supplements. Some multivitamins contain that level of B6, otherwise you can get a B-complex vitamin... Assuming, of course, that you have a comparable selection of supplements available in Canton, which I have no way of knowing.

I was with you until the mind over matter stuff. Count all of your female friends as lucky if they never experience PMS.

Be careful in who you tell that PMS is just mind over matter. That can really offend some women. And I can tell you from personal experience that it's not true. (And I realize you state that this is your personal experience so don't take it personal, and I'm not, but there are people who will take it personal regardless.)

I never normally get PMS that bad -- I might be slightly more irritable one day, but will just choose to stay home and read a novel that day instead of going out and having to deal with people (who might piss me off!). However, when I went on birth control pills, the first few kinds that I tried put me on the most horrific emotional roller coaster I've ever experienced. On one of them, I pretty much spent a week curled up in a ball crying -- no matter what I or my fiance tried, I was the most emotionally fragile person I've ever met -- like couldn't help but break down crying if some random stranger on the street looked at me wrong. It was totally irrational.

Given that experience, I will tell you that the "mind over matter" stuff is crap. There is a huge range of variation in how women react to hormones. Sure, there are some who play up the sympathy game. But there are some who genuinely are just overwhelmed by hormones that they cannot control.

its funny that there are men giving advice about PMS here and one man even suggested that there is no such thing as PMS. I suffer from it, have it now in fact can you tell :p? .... I dont think pot always helps.... when I have PMS I feel light headed and pot sometimes makes me even dizzier.

I have heard that Prozac is also used to treat it if you really get it bad where you want to hurt somebody.

    :)

go with whatever foods you crave at the time - your body is desiring them for a reason

chocolate, hot teas and baths can be helpful, trying to create a calm environment around you is helpful as well - anything you can do to pamper yourself

ah, i miss the days when the village would isolate us in our own little huts and slide food under the door, lol! :)

....or the cultures that would view us as sacred, enthrone us in the temples and leave us offerings in exchange for our great wisdoms ;)
