Hehe, you're wise beyond your years. I didn't really get into Dylan 'til I was in my early 30's....... late bloomer
hey man, the scottish folk-pop troubadour is far out. donovan's visions were unique and you know he shattered his billing as "Britain's answer to Bob Dylan."
Hey.. yip..Donovan..protest songs... I can't get enough of his songs like Universal soldier.. Colours..Catch the wind..Atlantis etc.. one of my favorites in the sixties/early seventies.. http://www.pmpr.co.uk/donovan2.htm Tiger
Personaly my favoritt song is "universal soldier". its the best one. beside that i think his stuff is good.
his voice is beautiful...and his music is so nice to the ears... blisful compositions. one of my favourite songs would be catch the wind... also hurdy gurdy man..and universal soldier.
I listened to some of his music not too long ago, but just couldnt really get into him. Maybe I'm listening to the wrong songs. Im not gonna give up on him just yet though, I'll go searching for more tunes
I is favourite a song Donovan / Jennifer Juniper, Jennifer, Juniper, lives upon the hill. Jennifer, Juniper, sitting very still. Is she sleeping? I don't think so. Is she breathing? Yes, very low. Watcha doung Fennifer my love? Jennifer, Juniper, rides a dappled mare. Jennifer, Juniper lilacs in her hair. Is she dreaming? Yes I think so. Is she pretty? Yes ever so. Watcha doing, Jennifer my love? I'm thinking of || what would it be like if she loved me. You know just lately This happy song, it came along and I had || to somehow try and tell you Jennifer, Juniper, hair of golden flax Jennifer, Juniper longs for what she lacks. Do you like her? Yes I do, Sir! Would you love her? Yes I would, Sir! Watcha doing Jennifer my love? Jennifer, Juniper, Jennifer, Juniper, Jennifer, Juniper
Stop that. Mellow Yellow, Jennifer Juniper and Atlantis are his worst songs ever. Oh, and Little boy in corduroy, but that's less known. I love the guy for all the rest. Fav. songs are Wear your love like heaven, Hurdy Gurdy Man, Get thy bearings, Universal Soldier, Catch the wind, Roots of oak, and A working man. My favourite albums are Hurdy Gurdy Man and Fairytale.
I just got "Troubador: The Definative Collection" in the mail and feel in love with his music. Iv'e always liked Sunshine Superman, But i never knew how much other music he did. Some of my favroites are: Riki Tiki Tavi, London Town, Codine, Poor Cow, and mSunny South Kensington.
