Hey there. My name is Brian, I'm 34 and I live in south jersey. I have had a heck of a time finding fellow free spirits, in fact I've come to refer to myself as the only freak in the fields.......this part of Jersey being dominated by corn and soybean fields....I live on a nice piece of land where I grow my own food and beat my own drum...I can't even find anyone for a drum circle. It's cool being an outsider...being gawked at by the "normal" people...but it gets awfully lonely sometimes too, and I make no apologies for the sappiness of that statement. Please, someone, anyone, everyone, in my area or not, say hi. Thanks
    Peace and Love
    Brian

It's nice to see that places like NJ are still preserving their farmland. And congradulations on being able to grow your own food (there are alot of people who would like to do that but have no room for it). Welcome to the forums.

thanks and love soaring eagle, I spoke to you in a message. I hear about the circles on the light line..i will be sure to make one soon. I have a 16' tipi, technically it's 15.75....but i call it 16'..I bought it, Reese, out in Colorado. I built the sweat lodge though. it's so beautiful... being inside with the fire right next to you dancing across the inside canvas..seeing the stars from the smoke hole...it's spiritual...womblike...I have a hard time sleeping in a bed anymore..inside walls, after feeling so connected

    woodsman,
thanks and love, yeah, it's a beautiful thing that there is such a thing as farmland preservation, it's a pretty active campaign down here. I've been steadily moving south through jersey to try and outrun the sprawl..and yes, I am most blessed to be able to connect with the Earth everyday, every season. it's amazing watching something grow from seed to harvest, knowing that that connection is nurturing you and the land too. thanks again for the reply and I hope to talk to you again

are you the brother spauk mentioned was organizing the campouts in the pine barrens then?
    how much land ya got?
we've been wantin to do some local campouts, get local family reconnecting, and ya got a sweat too?
awesome, i havent done a sweat since shasta almost 7 years ago, but that 1 wasa very intence sweat and i stayed in till they took the lodge apart..lol
but a sweat is slightly dangerouse for me due to a medical condition, so id have to really debate wether id tend fire or sweat
    if ya get a chance
look up a forumer named tipikelt i think it is..from france..shesa master tipi master tipi maker and makes some real beauties as well as lodges ang stuff
i would love to see tipi villiage pop up around here
we took over an rntire block of a crack neighbourhood here, and made a huge garden, and used to have an adobe oven even (wanna rebuild it someday) and we'd even talked about putting up a tipi schoolhouse..not really as a school exactly, but as a tutoring type thing and alternative education thing..unfortunately it never happened
well i'm gonna stop rambling now..heehee

    soaring eagle,
could be, there was a brother north of me that got a trip together last year, but I have not been able to get hold of him so I decided to try and do a trip myself...so he's talking about one of us...i have had no luck with that trip, maybe this forum will help. i live on just shy of 5 acres, not a lot but enough for our needs. it's beautiful, not enough trees for me, but still cool. we can talk about local camps, either at the farm or in the barrens. Now that the season is winding down, the fields are cut, I find myself looking out back and picturing a few more tipi's out there, a fire going, people dancing, laughin', lovin', being together....kinda puts that lump in me throat just thinking about it. Man!....I saw that oven on the Rainbow site! That was so cool, I've been wanting to build one but was not sure how..how did it work?

Yeah man, it's me again, just cruisin the forums tonight... I hear ya, with the exception of the 80's, I get lots of feedback from people about having long hair, usually from those who dwell in a rap music world. I love when they call me a hippie, they think they're insulting me, but they turn when they see me smile proud of having long hair. I just think about a shirt I once saw... You laugh at me because I'm different-- I laugh at you because you're all the same.
Sad how little respect there is out there...
    Peace dude
