Hi. I suffer from depression and anxiety. In the past I have used pot to help me focus and mellow out. However, I am not able to find a reliable source and have kind of given up-with the exception of relocating to Holland (since i can because i am a dual national of another european country). In the past I have gone the prescription meds route-lexapro, wellbutrin, paxil and none seemed to help-at least long term. Does anyone have any experience with other prescription meds that may help me? ie-antidepressants? Please, I am desperate! I am at a really low point in my life and will be going to the doc soon-I am that messed up. Any herbal remedies-St. John Wort, 5 Htp? Have these worked for pot smokers who can't find any? I can't even finish my grad degree and am about to give up on it. Any advice would be valued. Thanks
the best resourse would be a book called 'the herb book' that is really 1 of the most complete resource books on herbal medicines i'm hesitant to suggest any specific herbs for your condition, but getting that book and trying some of the suggested treatments should help ya alot are u in any kinda therapy to try non medicated treatments?
I feel for you man, although I've never suffered severe depression I've definitely had my low points. It's cool that bud can help you out, however, I've found that to be truely happy you need to do so from within; weed and meds can put on a happy mask for you but when they're gone so is the mask. Try out some new hobbies, new experiences, surround yourself with good people to reinforce to you that you mean a lot to them, everyone has meaning and worth, unfortunately some of us have to go through shit to realize it. Best wishes to you man!
marijuana, tho' a definitely divinely supplied herb, can be abused like anything. I am not suggesting that you have abused it, but will point out that dependence on any substance for subjective happiness often leads to abuse. considering that the negative emotion associated with the lung system in Chinese medicine is depression, it seems to me likely, and after many years of over-use (if not abuse) of marijuana personally, that heavy smoking can, and likely will induce depression. my advice to you is to find a traditional, single remedy homeopathic physician and find the energetic remedy to what ails you. you can then still enjoy the herb when you have it without being dependent on it. Blessings.
