Anyone else familiar with the works of Estonian composer Arvo Part (pronounced 'pairt') ? It seems his music is rapidly aquiring cult status - deservedly so in my opinion.

Yes - his choral stuff, esp. 'Te Deum' is great. Serene and contemplative.

Fratres is my favourite of his works. The Gidon Kremer recording is a classic.

If you like Part, I'm sure you'll like Zbigniew Preisner. He's from Poland and was responsible for the music in 'The Double Life of Veronique' and the 'Three Colours' movies. I highly recommend 'The Double Life of Veronique' soundtrack, and the movie, as well as 'A Requiem for my friend'.

I'm familiar with Frates and Tabula Rasa from Naxos myself. My roommate introduced me to it, and come to think of it, I'm going to go out and buy it for myself as a Christmas gift! Gidon Kremer is always fabulous!

I love Lamentate. I found a CD at my local library, and I loved it.
