Does anybody here use it, I have downloaded the free browser and so far I think it's much better than explorer. Supposed to be more secure and I like how smooth it operates. I have the newer 2.0 version of it. Was just curious if anybody else uses it and how well you like sit? :sunglasse

I am viewing this on firefox!

I love it to death, it doesn't give me any problems at all after I installed a lot of handy plug-ins (look at thier add-ons website, alot of nice stuff).

I always use Swiftfox now, which is the bleeding edge processor optimised version for Linux. The features for Firefox 2 will be implemented in that build as they get them.

You'll also want to look here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Knowledge_Base

Pay special attention to the about:config feature, but beware of unintended consequences if you choose to go into it and fiddle.

I have had no problems with this at all so far, quicktime plays well, windows media player works well, links seem to load actually a little quicker than explorer, everything I use seems to work so far with the basic 2.0 the finalized version like i say is due out tuesday and will have more improvements.

I definately prefer Firefox over IE but my favorite browser would be Opera.

I'm using Firefox for a while and have no problems with it. As Columbo already said it's very easy to customize and you're the master over your browser. I can't imagine it's possible to customize so much features in ie as in Firefox...
Everytime I have to use ie for some reasons (compatibility with some sites) I miss at least the tabs...
Have already installed the version 2.0 final, runs fine, but imho there are not so many changes as I expected...

I downloaded FireFox 1.5 initially. It seemed ok. Then 2.0 came out, and it seems to work pretty good. It's a nice free browser.

I don't use MS Internet Explorer either. I preferred Netscape over IE, but now I think I like FireFox better over both.

Yeah Firefox sure 'outfoxes" IE. But I do like Opera. Opera will even run fairly well on systems with itsy bitsy amounts of memory. Like an old laptop I used to have with 8MB of memory. Yeah that is not a mistype or misprint. 8 litlle megabytes. A dude on Xchat turned me on to it. I was surfing with dillo and lynx. Opera ran when Firefox just got hung. Or took forever. It was still slow but at least I could view webpages better. I am a very poor person and generally have old computers that I ressurect from the trashheap or somebody else gets a newer one and gives away or sells dirt cheap. So, I can definitely vouch for Opera being a superior browser. Firefox is cool though. To each his own.

    Peace, Cricketlind
