Potholes is near my hometown(sorta) in Illinois. My whole extended family goes there in the summerTime. Yes, it's a beautiful place.
potholes is an area near the IL border, a natural area maintained by Nature Conservancy or Sycamore Land Trust or something. It is a wooded area around a small natural gorge with a creek running down the middle. You can hike through the creek or around the creek. Lotta rural folks in the area take families there during the summer and lotta kids go there.
