Says someone who has never read anything I have ever said on these forums beyond my one comment on this thread. RTard. And yes, my daughters do hover me while I peruse the net. Why? Because unlike your sick ass, I don't go searching for titties and mangled corpses on the net. 90% of the ADULT posters on these forums put warnings on graphic threads whether they are sexual in nature or violent. There are alot of mommies on these forums...also alot of people who are working cannot open such threads. Putting NWS in the title is neither difficult to do nor disruptive to the point of the thread. It's called common sense and common courtesy. Qualities you obviously lack.
Do you have children?? You sure as hell don't sound like someone who does. If you did, you would know that 5 and 4 year olds DO NOT COMPREHEND death, tragedy, and morals the same way as adults. They don't understand. All they see is a bunch of bloody, dead, people and they get upset. You can run your mouth off about the evils of war all you want to them and you will still have a crying kid who sees nothing beyond the horror infront of them. Or in the case of my 4 year old. She laughed. She thought they were pictures of zombies and she thinks zombies are funny. Should I have beaten her for her insensitivity??? NO! She simply doesn't understand yet.
Oh come on... America starts a lot of wars and joins wars that it shouldn't even be involved in. And from what you've just said... Saddam Hussain was just a scapegoat for what happened in 9/11. ooooo EVIL Vengeful America! Get over it.
Every war will create these images.. Well every 21st war of modern times anyway.. It tells me that the time to use war to solve disputes is truly over.. We are too willing any to able to cause mass carnage without any consideration for the future of the countries we fight, protect or liberate.. Or for the future of Mankind.. Why does intense warmongering, and the escalation of another major world war only scare the public and not the Politicians? Oh, and thank you for posting these images Skip.. Doesn't matter to me whose bombs or bullets made a mess of these people, there are still lessons to be learned from them..
Not to be the cynical prick but nothing in the pictures shows that it was American munitions that did that damage nor does it state if these people were caught in a fire fight or the random media attention slaughters that have also been going on lately. Yes I know I will catch shit for this but there can be far more to those pictures than meets the eye other than simply the loss of life being taken under any means is a loss that should never happen.
the only other explanation would be suicide bombers " maybe someone could explain those pictures in detail "but whoever were responsible are lowlifes of the highest order ( maybe they should be forced to get close to those kids and babies that they slaughted ) maybe then they might find a consciounce within themselves fuckin bastards .
Oh you're so very right... the bright beacon of truth has cut through my crippled understanding and has shown me that it's someone else's job to control what kids see. Skip, you bad, bad doodyhead, stop showing truth to the legions of four and five year olds who are currently poring through the political forums. It makes them soil their training pants. How about exerting a little control over what your darling is seeing on the computer -eh? Aren't there better things for a four year old to be doing? Besides, shouldn't you wait to surf hipforums when your kid isn't around?
It seems to me the same people who hide the truth about death from children (under the guise of "protecting" them), also are the ones who will hide the truth about sex, about war and about reality from their children. They think their children can't handle reality, and thus their children NEVER know what is real and fall for the lies other adults perpetuate and eventually they become God fearing, war-mongering Conservative Republicans, with perverted sexual proclivities who think the most important thing in the world is getting the next tax cut and keeping the poor away from their money.
That's a little harsh skip. I think that part of being a parent is knowing when to expose your children(i have two) to the harsh reality of the world and when to shelter them from it. I don't believe otter's 4 year old is really going to comprehend the seriousness of death, war, capitalism, imperialism.... To each his own in his own time. In children it's not ignorance, it's called innocence. The crime is that so many children (like the ones in your photos) have to loose their innocense in such a cruel and heartwrenching way, otter is not at fault for wanting to shelter her kids for as long as she can. They'll learn how shitty everything is soon enough without her pushing pics of dead babies at them. Everybody has to face reality at some point in their lives, but as a parent you know when that time is appropriate and when doing so would just be cruel.
What I was taught as a child is this: No matter what the age, honesty is the best policy. It might be difficult and take time and patience to explain dead children to a child, but you explain it in terms they can grok for their age, rather than hide the truth. Yes, children die. Yes, adults kill them. That's life, get used to it, or work to change it (by voting OUT the warmongers for one thing). We do NOT give children enough credit for having brains of their own. We cannot always chose the time and place and circumstance to explain something like death to a child. If we had been given a good explanation as children, we wouldn't have such a hard time explaining things like sex and death to them ourselves. It's the ongoing cycle of IGNORANCE that must be broken. Especially if you ever want to deal successfully with things like child abuse. Be honest with your kids and they'll be honest with you! Lie to them, keep secrets, and they'll lie and keep secrets from you! That's how it works... Next thing you know they've become Speaker of the House!
My kids know about death. Their hamster died and we buried it. They know that dead bugs are dead bugs and that dead squirrels are dead squirrels. They have seen dead humans...at funerals. What they don't understand is politics nor at 5 and 4 should they have to understand politics. They don't understand the government or their reasons for killing people. They can't comprehend yet why people would kill each other. They also have similar problems with disease. You can't explain cancer to a small child and expect them to understand...not when they aren't experiencing it for themselves. It's very simple...either you are alive or you are dead. They don't get much inbetween. It's not sheltering or brainwashing. It's understanding child psychology and not stressing them out with thought capabilities that they don't have yet or holding them responsible for ethical and moral thought. There is a reason why small children cannot be charged, tried, and sentenced for killing someone. They don't understand what they truly did. They don't understand the moral consequences. They usually don't eveb realize cause and effect when it comes to things. They don't realize that holding a pillow over someone's face can kill them. They can't comprehend how that's possible. It's easy for people without children to tell parents how to be parents. They don't actually have to deal with the ramifications of such actions.
It's always a thin line. What to expose your children to and what to shelter them from is one of the hardest things about being a parent. But i think there are better ways to bring these things up without too blunt. You can talk to you kids about sexual predators without going into detail about what position Jon Benet Ramsey's body was found in, and you discuss morality, death, and the effects of war without flashing dead babies to them (in this case i dont believe skip is responsible for providing warning labels on an adult site on an adult forum about an adult subject)... Anyone who would critize you for exposing too much or not enough to your kids is full of shit either way. Who know's your 4 year old and what they are ready for better than you?
to much shelter and your child becomes a complete idiot. a trend very popular this days. we watch violent cartoons in the 30s 40sb 50s 60s and 70s prob even 80s and were not as violent or idiots as today young generation.
Your version was better than mine i admit but in the same general ballpark. also many of this over protected lazy kids home inside allday watching tv or video games become obese to extreme obese then when they turn 13 and 14 big emotional problems starts i dont need to mention the details.
Well im glad you posted that i did not quite see it like that and it would explain a lot . The only thing i wish i had when i was 11, 12 was a PC but i realise if a PC was around then it prob would have destroy the 60s and 70s.
The only thing i wanted when i was 12 was to be an adult (and all the magical freedoms you get when you turn 18), now all i want is for my oldest to be 2 forever.....
