Just wondering if I could get some identification on some wild mushrooms.

They probably won't do anything for me (and I haven't taken them yet and won't without identification) but I was wondering if anyone knew what mushrooms these are. I found them around my house. I live in washington. If you need a better pic of a certain part of the mushroom I can do that.

 

Now, you must be careful with this, extreamely careful. Also, I'll need pictures of the gills (bottems ofthe shrooms) and a description of their measurements (of the cap and steam, cap is length wise). I don't think they look too active though... Also, an other important thing: get a spore print. Just wet the shroom cap and place it on a piece of paper for a day. Then the gills will make the print. That also helps. You can also do this on lense cleaning paper, just leave the cap on that for a day. If nothing shows up on white paper after a day, take the cap and do one on a black piece of paper. Also, put in colour descriptions and physical features of the steam and cap.

 

they make books on how to properly identify mushrooms and i am sure there are also websites you could re search this information on. i do know that to properly identify mushrooms requires some work like doing a spore print as well as making measurements of the cap and stem it is all pretty basic though and any good source will give you full explations of what to do. if you are still unsureand after identifing the mushroom just get someone else to eat them first.

 

Dude, don't eat those. Look at all the other ID threads. Anybody with half a brain will tell you not to eat them and not to bother asking for positive id on a forum.

 

Excellent advice. When your friend's kidneys fail, you can just say "well I didn't wanna get sick so I had him eat the mushrooms first."

 

Yeah your probably right... I'll just stick with LSD till I can get safer mushrooms via better channels. It'll cost me but I'm to lazy to do all that spore print thing anyways. Oh well I didn't really think I'd be lucky enough to find quality shrooms so easily so I guess I'll just throw them away and live a little longer instead lol. ^_^

You can. You need to have in mind what shroom you have to pick before hunt , then consider every factor that the internet ID gives ya.

But at the shroomery you post the most random mushroom ever youll get an ID in 2 minutes..I guess he should go there.

 

Sure you can do lots of things but it doesn't make them smart. Buy shrooms from a dealer if you don't already know how to identify them, or learn how to. I would never trust some random guy on the internet to be able to accuratley ID a shroom for me.

 

lol Yeah don't worry about it 2cesarewild!! ^_^V The only mean thing I can think of that anyone could do to me in a circumstance like this would be to give me a fake identification and then look for a headline in the news paper reading "Washington boy days today from poison mushrooms" lol. As for blunt honesty that is something I respect.
