I could easily draw comparisons between you and a person of any race or religion, as long as that person was a jerk!

 

Every time I try to think of something clever to say as a response, I get distracted by the extremely thought-provoking and intellectual picture in your signature. Please take it down, because my head hurts trying to comprehend with all the wonderful and beautiful and intelligent things that it is saying.

 

You're really not very fun to argue with. All you do is say really lame and insulting things that aren't even funny. Maybe it's because you're too busy being angry at people you don't even know all the time, and it takes up all of your energy.

Also: you don't have to YELL to get your POINT ACROSS. Smart PEOPLE like YOU shouldn't HAVE TO.

I started this post because I thought it would be fun to argue with you. But you're just being serious and not saying anything clever or funny, so it's just not fun at all.

And anyway, you're obviously angry at someone because the whole Christianity board is taken up by posts by you attacking them for believing what they do. As far as I know, that means you're either angry, really lonely or completely insane.

I thought it would be fun to argue, because I thought you'd actually have said something that I would have thought was clever or that would have made me laugh by now... but you can't even do that! All you can do is think that Christians are stupid, and then when I try to make fun of you for being such a total dickwad and attacking people like this, you just attack me and act like what I'm saying is just so stupid that you can't even respond, instead of actually being able to come up with something to say. And yet, you are responding, because you need to. You need to keep coming back and insulting me and getting the final word in. But nothing you've said has really hurt me or made me think you're anything but a humourless, angry and antagonistic twat, which was, I believe, my original point.

And no, I can't hear you over the internet. I meant that when you use CAPITAL LETTERS on the Internet, it usually means you're shouting. The fact that you would even bring that up just proves my point even more!

I know you haven't come out and said 'Christianity is stupid and not real', but you might as well have. And I know you're not alone either, it seems a lot of people on this board have things against Christians, and I'm not sure why. Maybe they just like making fun of people's beliefs.

I'm not a Christian myself, but I definitely don't have anything against them. I just think it's really odd that someone would spend so much time pointing out the holes in someone's religion over the Internet, or start saying that all kinds of evil people were Christians, or saying that Christianity makes people ignorant or leads to evil or whatever. It just seems like a jerky thing to do.

You know, in Korea some people believe that if you leave a fan on in a room with the doors and windows closed, you will die... but I doubt you'd go over to Korea with a fact sheet about how that isn't real. Or maybe you could go to Japan and say that there was no Buddha, or maybe you could tell some kids that there's no Santa Claus or something. I mean, it's basically the same thing.

Anyway, I guess it doesn't matter.

 

My whole point is that anyone who would attack someone's beliefs as intensely as you is a jerk. That's all.

 

Perhaps you haven't noticed the things christians say about those they don't like? Or the fact that unlike fed-up they also think those they disagree with are going to burn forever in hell?
Point is that if you believe in an absurd and outmoded system like christianity, you are setting yourself up to be ridiculed.

I am not a christian either, but I do have things definitely against them. I don't like for instance the fact that millions are condemned to a life of poverty before they are even born by the catholic ban on contraception.
I don't like to see children abused by priests.
I don't like to see children traumatized by being told there is a place called hell, or being subject to exposure to images of a man nailed to a piece of wood, in whom they must 'believe' or be consigned to this imagined hell.
I don't like the fact that so-called intelligent human beings believe the earth is only 6.000 years old, and was cobbled together in a week by vengeful god of very uncertain provenence. etc etc etc.......

Since there are many pastors, priests and others out there who are eager to prop up the delusory beliefs of their 'flocks', it seems to me that people like fed-up are making a valuable contribution by presenting the issues from another standpoint. There is more than enough mindless christian propaganda out there - do you object to that too? Because to many people it is frankly objectionable.

 

I was trying to get you to maybe consider that maybe you were actually trying to hurt people or make them feel stupid or small with some of the things you were saying.

But I suppose I didn't do a very good job.

 

I guess if someone was telling me that what I believed was stupid and wrong and that I deserved to be ridiculed for believing it, then I would object to that because it's rude to tell people they shouldn't believe what they believe and then ridicule or provoke them for believing it.

And yes, this is exactly what some Christians do, but it is also what FedUpAmerican does. And I guess you do it too!

The only thing I'm saying is: if you don't believe in something, then don't believe in it. But don't think you can go around trying to get other people to not believe in it if it's what they believe in!

They have to make that decision for themselves.
