In another thread someone said that the BC Vaporizer is a ripoff. I asked why, and I got no response. So I made this thread. Is the BC Vaporizer a ripoff? and why?
its a ripoff because, well.... its NOT a vaporizer. the BC vaporizer is old "technology" and very outdated. it uses a metal heating element which will BURN your bud, not vaporize it. it also does not have a temperature control knob, so once it starts burning you bud, it wont stop. it also makes the bud taste terrible!, one because it burns, and two because of the metal heating element will Begin to oxidize and releasing fumes, which is also NOT healthy. as far as the "dome/soldering iron" vaporizers go, this is the one to get.... but why would you want that kind of crappy vaporizer? You get what you pay for, well.... not really... you can make a homemade BC for about $20 bucks... There are NO quality vaporizers for under $100 dollars... if you have a bong already i recommend the Got Vape. its on sale for $100. its a heat gun based vaporizer, and the heat gun has a variable temperature control. it also has a one year warranty. for $120-$140 i recommend the VaporWarez vaporizers. it has a glass enclosed ceramic heating element which is long lasting and safe. it also has a temp control knob. it is the best value for the money and comes with a 5 year warranty. i recommend it over the VaporBros, but both are great! i know you don't want to spend too much money but other than the ones mentioned i recommend the Vapezilla, the Volcano, and the AeroMed.
ive never used one, but ive been doing ALOT of research lately, as i think im gonna get one for the winter, and i would have to say the Hot Box seems the best for the money, which, if i remember correctly, is around 150. vaporwarez and vapor bros seem very nice too, but not quite as good as the hot box, at least based on reviews and tests ive read.
hotbox is great, very similar to the bros and warez, but its a little more expensive, with no real extra benefit. and only has a one year warranty...
isnt a 1 year warranty better than the other 2? maybe i just didnt read up on the warrenties that the bros and wares have, but for some reason i thought that the 1 year warranty was one of the pluses of the hot box. either way, the bc vaporizor DOES suck compaired with all the other REAL vaporizors, however im not speaking from experience, im just saying that from what ive read.
It sucks...got one and well it vaporizes ok I guess, but im sure convection works best... I dropped it once on rug and the base broke in half too expensive
vaporwarez has a free 5 year warranty. the vaporbros warranty isn't very good, after 30 days you have to either pay for the warranty or pay for the repair. and you WILL need a warranty, because these types of vaporizers seem to have parts that run out once in a while.
I think I'm oging to make a dome vaporizer. I got the bowl and soldering iron. I just need the base and the dome. Actually, I could just use the bowl to make a bong or hookah......hmmm......
ive made a soldering iron/dome vape before.... its not worth the effort, the end result is burnt nasty tasting harsh smoke. even a lightbulb vape is better, and easyer to make.
Willy's got it covered...But I'd like to correct your statement about the VaporBrothers, on mine I got a full year warranty without paying an extra dime, could have just been where I got it, but its been around 6 months now and no problems yet at all. I recommend a VaporBrothers, but there is of course other options to choose from.
yeah the bc vape is a ripoff, my friend (he runs The Volcano Vaporizer Resource Centre) owns every commercial vaporizer on the market, and I'd have to say (even without his bias lol) the best ones are the Volcano, the Vape bros and the OG paint gun rig.... and I have used them all ALOT!!
As far as vapes go, we just bouht an aero-med and it came with a 3 year warranty and a referral for a guy who knows them in and out in case something ever does go wrong with it. It's got the digital reading and it heats with a lamp. It stays pretty hot so you can pass it around pretty quick as well. I think I am done smoking to get high, now I smoke just for the taste/flavor of it. But I think the flavor of the vape is better as well.
