I don't necessarily expect anything in return but I'd prefer to help folks who express some appreciation. Nothing so irritating as to hold a door for a female who blows by you as if you don't exist.
I love helping people and I dont expect anything in return, just a simple thank you is all. Lately I have been helping daughters friend parents with their divorce. I dont mind doing it at all, until the mother got pissed because the father handed me some documents to type. Said she didnt want me to exchange paperwork in front of her. THAT pissed me off as I am doing this as a favor and for free, (would cost them $300-$400 to pay someone). Anyways, it pissed me off that she expects me to work around her schedule, like i am supposed to do all of this at her convienance. I dont think so. I told them I wouldnt be helping any longer.
i'm pretty altruistic, i enjoy helping people. but there are definitely times i expect something in return, especially with people i help out repeatedly.
No, I don't like helping people. However, I do enjoy punching babies and injuring soccer moms, while poking fun at the elderly. Haha...actually I think most people get a sense of self-satisfaction when they help someone. It's a good feeling and as far as expecting something in return, just knowing I made someone's life a little easier is enough compensation. Yep, I know, I'm a cheeseball.
