Do y'all want us to repost TGC info from AGR on HipForums about the political stuff or would everyone rather that we only post general info? don't want to post it if everyone interested is catching the politics elsewhere.

Thanks in advance for your input.

    LOL

Going to be interesting to see how that movie plays out!

My wagers go on a hostile takeover from Texas... that will cause there to be possibly 2 TGCs.

I, for one, can understand posts like this...
It actually makes me sick to my stomach, to know that people would even think of having a TGC out on that "brother's" property.

Remind you... that he did not care enough about Rainbow to even goto the CO gathering or councils there... yet he wants to host TGC at his place?

Wait a minute... deja vue! Did not the same thing happen with a council in FL with the same person?

It might take time, but at least the newer generation of rainbow has something to look foward to! All the old rainbow high holy control freaks will get old and decrepit, not be able to particpate or travel, and eventually die off.... thus, involuntarily relenquishing the egotistical control that today's rainbow "elders" have created for themselves over the years!

Heart attacks, strokes, and alzheimers is what will save Rainbow!

The most sick and twisted thing about even holding the gathering in Texas next year... is that after what happened in CO... Texas is going to KICK RAINBOWS ASS if they hold a gathering there. I could see it be the year with more arrests than ever before!

Well, bro, I can tell you that TGC is not going to be at Woodstock's. He will have something going on at his place but it won't be TGC.

I'm not sure about a hostile take-over, it's been amazingly quiet from most Okie & Arkie folks on the web; I wish I was hearing more from those folks. As far as I know, there hasn't been a block on TGC in Texas unless it's a very quiet one. I'm wondering about the FS thing that's cropped up; maybe a Dallas thing but again, not hearing from Dallas folks on the web.

There is a chance that if TX were chosen as 2007 Gathering that it could be the best thing that's happened in a while; depends what happens with the Nov elections. If Perry gets re-elected it's going to be a fight; Carole 'many names' could be a problem too but Kinky would likely check Rainbow out for himself in person & go from there. Of course this is only looking from the state prospective, not local or federal...local just depends on location Tx isn't all rednecks anymore, & fed is fed-'nough said.

From the standpoint of water availablity at a Gathering, both me'n'JuJu think that Arkansas is a better choice. Texas ain't got good water & most of the state has been in a drought.

In any case, the rumor we heard on the choice for TGC was that TX was more easily accessible for the short period that TGC is held. There are no choices for a state yet other than the 3 state vision council decision as far as we know...that's not supposed to be decided until Spring Council when there are scouting reports to base the decision on.

JuJu made it thru TX'88 alive and if TX is chosen we'll be there; we'll probaly show up in either of the other 2 states if they're chosen. It's nice to finally have a Gathering close enough to us where we can go even if I'm still working

you know, I read what you posted in another post... emails...blah blah...

That is really confusing. Especially knowing that Texas is involved, and that they have not always been the kindest state, when it comes to LEO.

I have thought that something like CO would have tarnished the next year's gathering, as have incidents in the past.

    Has the opposite happened?

Have they finally gotten fed up and realized that there is much more going on around this world, that makes thier quest to restrain rainbow, seem pathetic and un-needed?

I have heard various throw arounds, of sums, that the government has spent in thier quest over the past decades.

High figures that all seeming wasted and meaninglessly spent.

    Sounds a little creepy.

    The quiet before the storm.

Maybe the LEO have decided they need to rethink thier positions on things and are currently trying to figure out where they can head now. I can totally see them laying in wait for a few years, planning and organizing a new direction of attack. One much worser than where they have gone before.

    Only time will tell.

I was born and raised in Texas. It has progressed over the years no doubt. But the amount of time it takes things to change in the country (south in particular), ceases to amaze me.
I am guessing that whoever originally floated the Texas idea isn't all that familiar w/ Texas. Then again it might have been an high holy who has attended a Texas gathering before, for all my n00by arss knows :)
Anyhow, Texas law enforcement will be very reseptive when approached by the feds about last years road block incident. Regardless of where the gathering is they will be ready. But Texas is a worst case scenario waiting to happen. This gathering is likely to begin with the biggest confrontation yet. Why have that confrontation in Texas? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
    Save Texas for another year....please.

Texas is the last state where Rainbow won a court case over 1st amendment rights; which may be a lot of the reason TX is being pushed.

But it hasn't been chosen as the state for the Gathering yet...that won't get decided until Spring Council.

I dunno man... I agree, whatever happens in the elections will dictate were the gathering is. I wouldnt want to go to a gathering in Texas with someone like Perry in office. If that happens, there will be alot of arrests, alot of fights, alot of bad things... VOTE KINKY!!!!

Something no one has brought up yet that I think is important, as a Texas native, is that it is going to be balls fucking hot around 4th of july and there will be no water. If you're not from Texas you really can't imagine how hot it does get in the summertime. People will be passing out from heat exhaustion left and right and there will likely be a steady stream of ambulances coming to and from camp. Water would also be a huge issue because we haven't reached our rainfall quota in years.

all that being said, yes, Austin is a pretty hip city, but the leo's here are some of the worst in the country. Kinky won't be elected governor, and honestly, if anyone has actually listened to him debate you would realize he wouldn't make a very good governor. I love the guy, I think he's a fantastic writer, but he said on tv that the word "negro" is an endearing term for the african-american community. that kind of shit just doesn't fly.

yea i personaly have severe health risks from excessive heat so a good swimmin hole is a must and will be where you'll find me most of the day
when it gets over 80-90 im constantly tryin to fight off passin out
but im still plannin on goin no matter where we end up
theres things to concider in the choicing of every site..concider and accept
the altitude of many gatherings isanother thing that can cause health risks as well as the wood we have to burn

but not everywhere ya go are ya gonna have perfect conditions for everyone..

Well we are in TX and farther south than Dallas for sure...it's hot & humid in July, but the latest extended forecast says that TX will have more rain than usual for the next month or so; not sure if it's enough to make up for the rain we haven't gotten for the last year & a half but it might, spring 2005 for pretty wet in central TX & SE TX got more than its fair share of rain last fall. A water tanker is being discussed & will probaly be discussed more at TGC & Spring Council

course it'll be hot in Arkansas & Oklahoma too & possibly more humid

watched the debate & we thought Kinky did pretty well; the other thing is when you get republicans coming up to ya telling ya that they're voting for Kinky cuz they're sick of political double-speak....well, it going to be a wait & see situation with the election

But why are we talking about the Gathering when it's TGC that's been up for discussion as of late? (please check out the vision thread...)
