When we went to a Tennessee (unofficial) gathering people got shot at and the cops were were walking around with those sound thingys.
58,226 U.S. soldiers were killed in action or classified as missing in action, not half a million American soldiers. Reports of as many as 9 million Vietnamese civilians and military were killed and millions more affected by Agent Orange.
woodstock, why are you so pessimistic about...everything? Cheer up! The world really isnt all that bad. to you, and in general- i am friends with a lot of the cops in the town i work in. Most of them are very chill people. A few of them admit to putting on this "dick-wad cop front" when theyre on the road (yes, they've said that) and a lot of them are pretty down to earth. (hell, when i was still 20 theyd bring me out drinking ive honestly chilled with them when theyve been off duty) The young one who used to be a bit of a pseudo-hippie himself (we've had many conversatins when he comes into my store about everything we have in common and the phat jams he listens to in his cruiser) honestly wants to be a cop to protect and serve, not to bust kids and be a jerk. So while some cops can be jerks and stereotype and be out to get people, im sure... many are doing their jobs and are awesome, normal every day people when theyre off duty. How are we any better for stereotyping them? Let them do their job, know the law and your rights, BE CAREFUL, and you should be okay for the most part. with love
her dads dea & her parents are ultra protective & shes desperate for freedom.. the anger at cops is really just anger at her dad & all he stands for but its misdirected at what he does instead of just being angry about how hes affecting her..& woodstock sweety..u gotta approach him like that..hes just your dad doing what dads do..& right or wrong its not cause hes dea..hes just your dad..talk to him about his actions not his beliefs or what he has to believe to be a cop.. even forgety hes a cop & talk to him as dad.. cops are just ppl who hafta pretend to be a certain way so they can do theyre jobs
It can be hard to like cops, but they are just machines of the man just like we all are as employees. I do feel we are leaning towards facism more and more everyday.
What... someone on here reads the Indiana Daily Student newspaper... or the Digital Student online???? Wow! i live here and didn't pay att'n, never been into shows but it sounds like i would've had fun, dammit, shoulda been there. i haven't heard of any busts because of the show so i guess the student journalists are doing a better job than the IU cops, thankfully.(although a bunch of that crap at shows... nitrous, meth, opiates... i don't think adds anything good to a show.
psh, drugs dont add anything to a show, wat would a show b without mad strung out people, i stick to the psychedelics myself but i appreciate stoned people in general...but i digress...first off, some people r cops, and some cops r people, for some they r only tools for part of the day, but others they spend there entire lives propogating hate...and thats another thing, i dont like cops, i cant stand to b told wat do, but i refuse to hate them, cus i think thats just contributing to the whole system of hate...a good test to see wat kind of a cop a person is, tell them u love them, a cop will get pissed, a person might just feel uncomfortable, or hell, they may even smile
Yes don't hate cops... but do understand what they really are.... TOOLS! Today's LEO's really aren't any different than the tools who work for the military. They are all part of the military-industrial complex. The Rainbow Gathering proves a society can function without people desginated as "cops". I have never heard anything productive come out of LEOs being at the gathering.
Smoking marijuana is more fun than drinking beer, But a friend of our was captured and they gave him 30 years, Maybe we should raise our voices, ask somebody why, But demonstrations are a drag, besides we're much too high, And I'm sure it wouldn't interest anybody outside of a small circle of friends... -Phil Ochs
Thank you for the correction... and I thought I knew my history. Looks like somebody needs to do some reading. Numbers aside, the point is still valid though. The 1960's weren't the Mecca/Golden Era some people... especially young kids believe it to be.
Gyah, are they even teaching kids nowadays or do you guys just watch 'A Raisin in the Sun' every day?? San Francisco was a mecca for the young, intelligent, and artistic and they were called to the bay area from within, instinctually. Read Conversations with The Dead, Phil's autobiography, Storming Heaven... Some believe it was also a time when creativity flourished on an incredible new scale and new ways to live became acceptable. Seeds were planted then of which you may be enjoying now, ya know? To understand the impact of the '60s, learn of life in the '50s and before. I was born in June of 67 and I saw the changes come around in my time. I grew up back in thre Bible Belt so it was probably the last region to change. The waves that washed away prudence and stigmas, many taboos and fears, and laid a base on which to build personal faith, spirituality and a new understanding of the power of Love...Those waves came from the splashing around that began in the bay area way back when. Believe! Lucy came to us to balance the power of nuclear bombs, much Love to balance much death and fear...and from her we learned new ways to look within and see the base necessity of goodness and Love in our lives and the importance of sharing Love because it is the Only thing we take with us!
hmm, we were wondering where they were coming from last year at wakarusa. oh well. ive always gotten by without selling drugs. thats the simplest way to ensure your freedom.
Oh, you must not smoke weed. Smoking weed where cops are using night vision is not going to ensure your freedom, my friend, even if you are not selling it. Or even if someone is smoking nearby you can get caught up. If you are at a fest and cops are there, if you say the wrong thing you may still lose your freedom for a bit. The only way to ensure your freedom is to stay at home. But sometimes the risk is worth the experience. Cops are at festivals everywhere because too many have said too much. Sure they always knew what went on at Dead shows and festivals but we kept it on the down low and their presence was constant but moderate in comparison to what happened last year. There will always be cops around at some level, always have, but keep things quiet, stay smart, and listen to your heart.
Next time everyone should wear masks and the same clothes. Make it a nightmare to ID anyone. We have this technology here in Woodstock that was GIFTED by The FEDS! I can't tell you how many times some young looking Narc has asked me here where to buy Drugs. We all tell them bogus places so they keep walking around in circles all day and laugh our asses off watching them.
