Since peyote seems to hard to get i would like to try either peruvian torch or san pedro. How is the trip different and which one is better Also i seen all different ways the cactus is prepared and sold online, what is the best way to take either one: powder, fresh cut piece, dried etc. and how much would i need to take i woulld like to have a pretty hard trip with lots of visuals. one more thing how is either of these diff. from shrooms thanks to all
There is no difference in the trip between Peyote, San Pedro or Peruvion Torch, mescaline is the main active ingredient in all 3 so the trip is identical. The trip tends to be sort of dreamyer than shrooms and thier are more body effects than with shrooms, also it tends to come on slower and last longer. As far as how to take it, well everyone will have thier own opinions on which way is best but I think most people would tend to prefer powdered as thier is less of the stuff to eat, than when its fresh.
I'd recommend buying peruvian torch... in dried little squares... peruvian torch is more potent than san pedro so you will have to ingest less nasty cacti than the other... When you get the dried little pieces you can put them in food, although blending it to powder is not a bad idea... i put the powder in the water and mix it with lemon juice (apparently acidity boosts the trip)... 20g of dried t.peruvianus is enough for a mild trip 30g is perfect for a nice good trip 40g+ of t.peruvianus is just far out psychedelic (try getting the cut pieces in squares of dark green peruvianus, instead of the smooth yellowish pieces... I am not sure which part of the cactus it is different from the other, but it's more potent for some reason.) how it differs from shrooms: I find the mescaline trip to be... less scary and much more confortable than the one of psilocybin. It's more intense, but it's a good kind of "intense"... Although each trip can be different, but the ones I've had the chance to have were the greatest trips of my life.
Thanks for the info about peruvian torch i am looking forward to trying it. For those of you who buy your peruvian torch online, what websites have you bought it from and had good results such as the quality of the product and shipping? Also woyld you agree that 30g is enough for a GOOD trip
i find i need more than 30 grams... 30 grams for me is a mild dose. im going to try 60 grams in a week or so, but i just dont want to eat 65 capsuls right now.
Different cacti will give you different trips. Mescaline is just one of many alkaloids in those cacti. True, it is the strongest, most felt alkaloid... but other alkaloids definite add to the experience.
Regarding how to consume the cacti, you're best off doing an extraction of some sort. There are three ways to go: 1. Water extraction (making an acidic soup, boiling it down, etc...). There is a ton of faqs online detailing various ways to do this. 2. Alcohol extraction. My method (and I need to rewrite this...) is here: http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=204109. 3. Acid-Base extraction. This involves some potentially dangerous chemistry, but is the best way to go if you have the know-how to pull it off. For all of these, you first need to get the cactus into a dried, powdered (completetly pulverized is the way to go) form. There are sites that sell powder within the US (you're safer, imo, ordering within the US). Just google 'peruvian torch powder', and make sure the vendor is in the US (look on their 'contact us' page). There are many more sites that sell peruvian torch cuttings or whole live plants, easy as googling 'peruvian torch.' [start rant] Powder is cheaper and more convenient for using in the various extractions, but there is a debate about whether its a good idea to support vendors that sell the powder, as it is bordering on what could be considered illegal, and the logic goes that if the feds attention is grabbed by the sale of pre-powdered cactus, which theoretically falls within their overly-broad (ridiculous, really) definition of a scheduled drug, then san pedro/peruvian torch might become scheduled. I for one don't really buy the paranoia. The argument hinges on the idea that the commerce of san pedro/peruvian torch on the net is somehow 'under the radar,' and that the sale of powdered cacti, by being illegal under an interpretation of the law (which is true, more or less), will get federal attention and result in scheduling. It's naive to think the feds don't know about the sale of hallucenogenic, mescaline containing cacti, powdered or not, on sites that very blatantly imply it's for consumption. If and when they choose to do something about it, it won't be due to someone buying powdered cacti over the internet. [end rant] Sorry about that. As an individual internet buyer, you're pretty much safe. Just order within the US (if that's where you live). Ordering overseas means more checks on your package, which could potentially be bad. Better safe than sorry. If you don't buy powder, and you want to try either the alcohol or the A/B (acid/base) extraction, you will need to dry out and powder whole cactus yourself, which isn't too hard. Personally, I find the alcohol extraction pretty painless (takes some time though) and it serves a valuable purpose of minimizing how much material you have to eat, which goes a long way towards helping with stomache troubles. If you do follow my technique that I've posted, PLEASE evaporate thoroughly if you choose to use isopropyl alcohol. Also, make sure you use containers that won't contaminate your stuff: 91% alcohol can extract dangerous shit out of a lot of materials.
30g is enough for a good trip. It's about the mid point between pleasant and intense, although this varies from person to person of course. Although you may start with 30g of whatever, by the time you've gotten that 30g in to whatever form to consume it you'll have lost a bunch to do inefficient preparation. Losing yield is a fact of life even with the best chemists, so a 30g starting amount might mean a 15-25g trip in reality. Something to bear in mind. In my experience, making a soup has always been a messy endeavor with alot of stuff I couldn't scrape up, spills, etc..., all of which mean lost product. That's why I do alcohol extractions now.
I find that I just grab the longest collum of cactus, I have peruvian torches and san pedros from seed. I don't see a huge difference in the effects of one being stronger than the other. I do notice that in august after the scorching summer sun and heat the medicine in the tasty cactus seems much more potent. I'll eat 12-15" at a time and after an hour or two I'll have more and and more servings of similar amounts. I usually don't "get well" = Puke. Cause the vibration of this plant is part of my entire being, I'm connected to the sun and universal conciousness through the ingestioin of this green living plant.
One of the easiest ways to extract the mescaline without any chemistry. I used trichosues bridjesi (not sure about spelling) which is apparantly stronger than peruvian torch- also the mother plant that our 15 feet of hacked cactus came from was very big and probably quite old- thus I think making a stronger mescaline content. The rusult from this 15 or so feet of cuttings I estimate made a little over 50 moderate doses. If you only have a limited supply use the whole cactus- otherwise slice off only the darker green flesh underneath the skin- throw away the core and light green flesh. If you are using the whole cactus cut it up into little bits- you'll need a sturdy knife to cut through the core. In a very big pot (we used a 10litre) add your cacti and fill with water. We added a little citric acid (apparantly this helps your body to absorb mescaline). Boil (not simmer) for about 12-14 hours (obviously topping up the water ever now and again). I boiled for less time before and the result wasn't anything near the strenth of a 12hour+ boil. Using a pressure cooker you may only need 8 hours. After boiling for 12 hours allow to cool and remove all the plant matter. The liquid should be a stong mirky green mixture- smells a bit like stewed apples but don't be fooled- your own urine would taste a million times better. Boil the liquid down- as it condenses it should darken significantly in colour. Add some icing sugar (only a little), this will help it stick together as it condenses. Condense as much as possible without burning. Eventially you'll have a dark green/black sticky goo. Taking a small bit roll to the size of a jelly bean and coat with icing sugar. The icing sugar will stop your pellets sticking together. Store in the fridge. Injest only on an empty stomach otherwise you'll miss out on the full potential of a mescaline trip. The batch we made with whole cacti about 20 pellets was a moderate dose. The batch with only dark green flesh the pellets doubled in strength. Remember each cactus is different and dosage can be diffucult to measure- the only way is to try it- in my opinion, if you take too much a strong mescaline trip is nothing to be afraid of- just very visual. As long as you have the usual three things strictry in place- The setting- The people you're with and a Stable state of mind. Enjoy
this is not true! Yes all 3 cacti contain mescaline, but all 3 do contain different alkaloids that effect the trip. Extracting the mescaline can be messy. I would just eat the cactus. Dry it out and put it into gel capsls and sallow them over a 30 minute time period. Eating the cactus(without the extraction) allows you to get all the alkaloids and other chemicals besides just the mescaline. I prefer to get the real experence, more like a cocktail of multiple chemicals rather than just one. but it is up to you what you want to do., Do some research and figure out your preference. good luck
Ya know, SWIM recently tried fresh San Pedro, frozen and thawed twice to make it easier to take off the skin. Tasted almost good! Worked fast, good stuff!
No, SWIM froze it, and thawed in twice in one day. Then sliced it into stars and wrapped in plastic in the freezer for morning boost when needed.
