So, our roommate just got a tarantula (I have two already). It's the same species as mine, so houseing/care is pretty simple and everything. I'd guess it's about 4-6 years old (for a species that sometimes/generally lives 20+ years in captivity) and we're waiting for it to molt so I can see if it's a male or female, so it's currently nameless. My husband caught a small salamander at work a few days ago, it's about 2-2½" head to tail. Of course, not long after he caught it, I got the "Can I keep it?" call, haha. (He knew we had extra tanks.) So it's living in a really small Kritter Keeper with a mini-beach, it spends most of it's time in the water (because it's still really young) and it's eaten three crickets so far, so we know it's doing good/not over-stressed from being caught and kept or anything. We thought about feeding it to one of my tarantulas, the biggest of the three, Gracie. But the husband had already fallen too in-love with the thing (I have to admit, it's pretty cute) so we decided to keep it for good. So now, in my house, there are three tarantulas, a salamander, a big-dog puppy (he's a year and almost 3 months now) and two guys, age 18 and 21... so begins the mini-zoo, haha.
