According to numerous sources; mescaline and psilocybine are sold legally in their "natural forms" (peyote cactus for mescaline and psilocybe mushroom for psilocybine). With that said, do the unprepared natural versions of these psychedelics produce as good of a trip than the prepared versions? If not, how do you prepare the peyote cactus and psilocybe mushroom after purchasing them from a coffee shop from the Netherlands?

Silver when it says "natural forms" or "unprepared" all that it means is fresh i.e not dried out. They produce the exact same trip, but you would have to consume more fresh than dried by weight, because obviously the fresh contains extra weight in water. To prepare the cactus or mushrooms after buying them then all you have to do is leave them out to dry/dehydrate. But you can just eat them fresh, it makes no difference to the strenght or quality of the trip. It's just for legal purposes that they make the distinction between dried and fresh.

actually it makes a huge difference to the trip. 1 gram dried of shrooms= 10 grams wet.

there's a pay-off there - a dried mushroom has lost some of its potency, but not necessarily that much, if it's been properly dried without heat.

What you gain is percentage psilocybe/psilocin per gram, as trailerboy illustrates.

No preparation is actually vital for either cactus or mushrooms - you can eat either straight ( with the cactus you remove the outer skin and the core and can eat the rest)

I think the popularity of preparations in these two cases stems from the desire to reduce yukkiness
