i was wondering if there was anyway to measure, not accurately, just a rough estimate, how much thc a certain quantity of weed has. are crystals really the only way to tell if it has lots of thc or not? are there things around the house you can use, or basic physical properties that indicate good weed over bad weed?
i was kind of wondering this too, after reading that thread a few days ago about some guy growing weed was like 29%....
Well first you look at the crystals. If theres alot well you know its good But you know , sometimes weaker lookin bud at first sight will be great great stuff. I think youd have to isolate a trichome and mesurate its thc percentage. I dont think 29 percent means like 29% of the weight of the bud is thc thats silly. So that would imply that 29% thc weed, makes 29% thc hash. But the hash would actually be 29% thc if its pure , and the weed would be lower, like if there is 50% trichomes on it it will be 14.5 percent thc... or something or it might be 29% of cannabinoids bla i dont know
i have no clue what grapfrutiy is talking about. when ya make hash your attempting to concentrate and isolate the trichomes. no matter what grade of weed you start with, you come out with a semi-pure product. the only thing the weeds potency changes is the yield of the hash. anyway, just as a simple guide(collected from various sources, but not completely accurate): schwag...........1-3% mids...............4-7% beasters-dank..8-12% headies...........13%+
wow... so that thread that had the article about the guy getting caught growing the "worlds strongest weed" at 29%... that really is insane, if headies are 13%+, and mids go up to 12% (i understand those are approximate numbers), but still I didnt realize that this 29% stuff was SO much higher amount than average...damn.
and that article is bullshit. there have been recordings of atleas 29% before. and there are even clames of 30% and higher.
oh my bad, i read your descriptions of different percentages wrong... or just didnt really read them well enough. either way, 29, 30 percent... anything around there, i cant even imagine what that would do to me... if it WAS possible to overdose on weed, i think that would prolly do me in haha
You can't go by crystals. I knew a guy back in the 80's who would buy a 1/4 lb. of crappy brick weed, lay it out on plastic and pour a 12 oz. Coke one it. When it dried the weed was sparkly--from the sugar in the Coke. Someone on these forums last week remarked that they tasted thier weed and it was salty (salt sparkles). The ONLY way a person can tell without expensive labratory equipment is to smoke some.
im pretty sure that article said he was growing the most potent weed in EUROPE not the world.. and i dont care what u say.. 29% is very potent! lol and also, how rare are headies? I live in central ohio and i have only been able to get dank or have only heard of dank.. and i mean ive gotten some really dank shit.. so do u think there arent any headies around here or maybe we just call headies dnak?
okay, so i understand that crystals dont always = great weed. however, if there arent many crystals at all, is it pretty safe to assume its nothing good?
I think it's safe to say that, looked at in bright light and preferably using a mag. glass, if it doesn't sparkle it isn't the KGB. But remember there are other things in marijuana that get you high besides stuff that sparkles.
