I went to see this movie last night and it was one of the best films I've ever seen. I don't recommend movies too often because everyone has a different tastes in genres but I think anyone can get into this one. Seriously, go see it now.
I can't wait to see this movie, any martin scorsese fan would want to watch this movie. He seams to make a classic every decade. 70's had taxi driver, the 80's was raging bull and the 90's was Goodfellas. The departed looks like it will be the classic of 2000's.
son, that movie was flames all the way through, I wasn't expectin it to be THAT good. Mark Wahlberg's character had me dyin lol.. everyone killed their roles though. but the ending though... when dude got offed in the elevator, that didn't sit right with me.. I mean, I understand the significance of it all, but eh.. I dunno.
James "Whitey" Bulger Great movie The movie was loosely based on the life of Boston Mobster James 'Whitey' Bulger - pictured above as he appears on the FBI's Top Ten Most Wanted List Hotwater
It's not that faithful a remake apparently, but since i'm a bit fan of both directors, i'll go and see The Departed.
I thought it was a great film...i wasn't expecting less, just the ending left me with a weird expression on my face....
"The Departed" is the only Hollywood film this year so far that deserves Oscar nominations, and in such an anemic year for good cinema, it appears that Scorsese may finally be poised to win his first Academy Award. The film is a remake of "Infernal Affairs." Both films are good, but Scorsese's direction coupled with some remarkable performances really moves "The Departed" above "Infernal Affairs" in terms of overall quality. It's hard to believe that it's already November 3, and I can't think of one other movie that can compete with "The Departed" this Oscar season. I had high hopes for "Flags of Our Fathers," but Eastwood's entry this year turned out to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. And there really isn't much on the horizon. "The Good German" might be interesting, but I honestly think that Steven Soderbergh is an overrated hack who still has a career only because George Clooney agrees to do his films. I'm beginning to think that Hollywood has come to a point of no return, and we will never have another golden age of cinema.
it was pretty good, i didnt like the ending and a few other parts. he wouldnt have let the rat be so close in the first place. he would've went to jail- instead of being killed. better he wouldnt have went to get the drugs in the first place. there were some holes, but overall it had me interest. which was great
