I was thinking of opening a head shop in the next few years.

i live in northern BC and recently had the notion to possibly open my own cannabis calture shop. i was hoping for ideas on what to feature but more importantly how to avoid police raids like those experienced by Marc Emery and the ''Up in Smoke Cafe'' in Ontario. i was hoping one day to sell seeds and possibly have a smoking lounge for valued customers. what do you think is this a good idea?

if you are just selling "tobacco" products no one will ever raid you

you will most likely get busted if you are selling seeds/weed

best thing to do is run a legit buisness for like a good year or 2 then start the smoking/seed sales

Aren't seeds legal in Canada?

 

i live in BC Canada and despite all the posts on this site it isnt legal to sell marijuana, although seeds are legal. i was thinking of starting with offering a smoking lounge and it would be open to all types of 'smoke' because with a bong purchase we will add in a couple grams of some exotic flavored tobacco. in ontario theres the 'up in somke' legal smoking lounge. i was wondering if its legal to offer a place to smoke but not sell weed.

 

It may be legal but that doesn't mean the pigs won't bother you. I agree with digitaldj, you should run a totally legit business for a couple of years first before implementing your smoking lounge plan.

 

"Dakine" smokeshop which was on comercial drive, which i dont care where u live, things are not as widely accepted there as they are on comercial drive

ANYWAYS, dakine sold pot, and had a smoking room, which i used a couple times, also smoked their pot which was consistantly killer

needless to say they got shutdown if u hadnt heard about it already
