I was at church tonight and we were reading about the creation. I have some questions. I was wondering what some of you cool people might think of them Did they speak English in the Garden of Eden? How is it that two people who God created mess up our lives like they did? Were Adam and Eve children or adults? And then one random question What does it take to get into heaven? Discuss.
I think of heaven as just a second earth, only alittle more peaceful. Well. A lot more peaceful. I dunno. I guess it would be just general heaven. The kind everyone pictures. Angels? Clouds? Happiness?
Just something I made up. When I was little and my grandma died, I thought she was just going on a trip to a different place and I'd meet her there sometime later. I just thought of Heaven as another place. Another town. But as I've gotten older, it's gotten more detailed. Like since wars and shit happened, I figured Heaven was a place where none of that exsisted. If there is a God, he doesn't want us to fight about stupid shit. We all were created equally. And thats what He thinks.

However as a Christian, I gotta say you gotta take the bible with a grain of salt, I think Adam and Eve is more of a moral story then historically accurate.
Mark Foley would rather think Adam and Eve were in their early TEENS, not twenties. How else could you explain not being embarrassed by being naked? (laughs)
No. Well that is if you take a literal account of Genisis to be true. A literal interpretation would say the serpent 9or Satan however you read it) deceived the innocent Eve, who in turn got Adam to follow suit, however it can also be read in a more metaphorical way that even though some-how humans are ingrained with a certain Moral Law that other animals seem to be without, we are still subject to our evolutionary desires to better ourselves at the expense of others. N/A in my opinion. God's grace. Grace being a gift from God that we are unworthy to receive. So basically it is at the desgression of god.

english wasn't invented til the anglo saxons and romans and whatnot came about i think, so no. adam and eve were tempted by the devil. God created them perfect and with freewill, the devil tempted them and they caved in. i don't know if adam and eve were children or adults because it doesn't say in the bible. i reckon adults personally. what it takes to get into heaven is to believe in God and that Jesus is his son, and to ask them to forgive your sins. Remember, even the devil believes in God, the key is to actually want to love God, to be connected with Him and to want to live up to his standards
well the second question is complex and difficult to answer. *hints* elohim in hebrew is plural....gods not god. there was a disagreement between two of these "gods" regarding the role and purpose of human evolution. “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” - Genesis 2:16, 17 death=transformation. it is a nessesary component in the sacred triad of birth death and rebirth...isis, apophis, osiris “Behold, the man is become as one of US, to know good and evil.” - Genesis 3:22 by convincing eve to "eat the forbidden fruit" lucifer brought about a transformation in eve's conciousness, illuminating all things. where we once were beasts we became beasts with the divine spark. i think the fruit is a symbol of a level of understanding.
So obviously they weren't perfect or they wouldn't have 'caved in'. This whole thread is typical nonsense isn't it. It is beyond belief that in this day and age people actually take any of this stuff seriously, let alone literally. Shows how effective christain brainwashing/hypnosis can be.
