So me and a few friends of mine have been writing music for about a month or so. We've come up with about twenty songs and are really excited about the prospect of starting a band and really going for it. One of these guys I've been playing with scored some mushrooms and we decided to plan a day to get together, eat the shrooms, jam and just enjoy each other's company. We got together fairly early. I guess it was about 3pm or so. We spent about 45 minutes clearing out the new practice room and getting the PA and amps set up so we wouldn't have to deal with technical things once we were tripping. We took break and ate them at around 4pm. They were chocolates that apparently had 2.5 grams in each one. We smoked a bowl to ease into it and started getting ready to play. These mushrooms really kicked in quickly. within 15 min or so we started getting this feeling like am I just really stoned or am I starting to trip here. Something was different. So we went into the practice room and turned on all the trippy lights we put up. We started playing and as soon as the first note hit, it was apparent to each of us that we were defintely tripping. We timed it perfectly the rest of the come up and the climax of the trip was during our jam session and it was unreal. The music really took over and it was almost as if my guitar was playing me. I just understood what to play and the sound was amazing. There were two guitarists, a bassist, a drummer, and a lap steel player. We were playing some trippy, grungy, southern rock type jams and the next couple of hours were just really intense. I closed my eyes while playing and got some pretty cool visuals. I saw a kind of hyper-colored kaleidescope spinning against blackness. I spent some time playing to this image not sure if I was controlling the image with what I was playing or if the image's changes were influencing what I was playing. We really seemed to connect in this moment and the mushrooms didn't seem to hold us back at all. Its hard to say how long we played. It didn't seem like more than thirty or forty five minutes but it was really at least a couple of hours. After this we sat on the front porch and smoked another bowl and watched the trees as a friend played acoustic guitar. I had only tripped once before and it was at night. I have to say that I really enjoyed tripping in the afternoon like this. There is just so much to look at during the day. It is really fascinating. Especially the trees. Soon it was dusk and a friend and I decided to drive to a spot to watch the sun set. We left to drive down the road and I felt fine and totally confident driving. We were listening to "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" by the Beatles and tripping balls. We missed the sun set but a huge group of dark clouds were rolling in and we spent some time watching thema and talking about how small we were compared to the rest of existance. The topic of space came up and we discussed the fact that humans label it "space" because they don't know what is out there or what it even is. We try to define it by calling it "space" as if it's nothing. But really we have no idea. Most people act as if the world revolves around them. Anyway after this we hung out for awhile and started to come down from the trip. The trip was very short. Only about 3 or 4 hours but it was fairly intense while it lasted. I'm looking forward to doing it again.
I wish the guys in my band would trip, it's always just me hiding behind my cymbals with dilated pupils, freaking the fuck out
That's awesome man! I did the same thing on a trip and it truely was amazing! And 3-4 hours is a pretty normal trip length for me.
Sounds awesome. I really want to trip on some shrooms/LSD with my whole band and just jam. Sometime, hehe.
Yeah it really was great. We had been planning it for about a week. The night before we kept talking about how it felt like Christmas Eve.
that sounds soo good man! you'll prob be remembering that as one of the nicest moments you've had. almost makes me wanna start a band again just for that haha.
im pissed, i wanna DAYTRIP here in Maryland since i never had done at the day time, but its really hard to find now...idk why, i guess there not in season
Yeah I hadn't tripped in a bout four years so I have no idea what the market is like around here. We may have been lucky to even get them.
Yeah dude my first (so far only) trip was a day trip and I wouldn't have had it any other way. I could never, and still don't, understand why so many people start tripping at 10-11pm.
Night trips are pretty fun in their own way. If you can get a good night on a new moon where you can't see it but only the stars it's amazing. Night trips are usually a lot more spiritual for me it seems...day trips are really fun though 2, best to get the best of both worlds and start before dusk to get the daytime, the sunset, and the night.
