anyone go to the philly folk fest this summer?

I think its great, hence the reason i go every year.
Our campsite had a reefer road sign staked out in front of it, you probably walked by us....

 

i havent gone in years myself..i think its gone way downhill the past several years
besides i'm usualy at a gathering somewhere round that time anyway
but buncha years ago it was alotta fun

 

YESSSS i saw your tent site! i laughed when i went by it. i brought my bowl and weed with me, but i didnt know where to and didnt want to get caught. oh and i had a conversation with the main guy from WXPN becuase he sat right in front of us white something brown was on the main stage. it was fun seeing how i dont get out much. festivals are pretty sleep, except next time i actually want to camp out for the whole time...

 

Perhaps you should give it another chance? I talked to someone prior to this years fest who hadn't gone in 5 years because he felt it was heading in the wrong direction. A friend of his bought him a ticket this year as a gift so he felt obligated to go, but ended up having his best fest ever...
The theme of this years fest was the Wizard of oz, and wouldn't you know it, a tornado cuts through the campgrounds and tears several tents out of the ground and into the sky never to be found again(one of which was my brothers)
It was quite the magical event.
If your surrounded by enough family, you can't help but to have a good time...

 

Last time I went was 04, and although I was given the best L I ever had in my life there, I didnt really enjoy it too much. Besides the fact that I cant stand folk music, some of the people I ran into seemed to really be bent on ruining it for others. I always camp with my girlfriends dad and his group that have been going since the 70's and you always meet chill people, but that time I dont know, it was an odd vibe going down, and I only ignored it when I was dosed. I mean like people walking off with joints, some other kids were selling powder that was horribly cut, same with the e pills, I dont touch that shit anymore but some of my friends got pretty sick. Of course these folk are to be expected wherever you go, that year just seemed to hold a lot of em.

 

sorry you had a bad time. it was my first and even though i was with mom and her jackass boyfriend who had me arrested at one point, i had a great time. i didnt know anything about it but i enjoyed it. i thought there were going to be a lot more glass there but i didnt look that hard. there was this one guy who was soooooooooo tall and had dreads and came up to me and was like "halt in the name of myself, whats you reason for being here" and then hugged me. everyone i met was pretty awesome and one guy even drew me a picture...he was on acid and it was so cool looking. he even signed it for me.

How much were they this past year? I heard they were pricey. Actually we had 2 tickets offered from family for free, but we declined I dont think the baby is quite ready for that insanity, not till he's 2.

 

hmmm i think they were around sixty. if you went for all day and night...but we snuck in the camp site...go figure.

 

i did this grab bag thing and my mom got a little mad cuz she thought it was a scam but i got a Gene Shay bobble head...its pretty funny it say blad head up and 40 years of folk music on the radio. i saved evrything from my time there. even the arm braclet.

 

there was some sketchy shit going on this year. it seemed like a lot of people were just fucking with you, trying to bug you out and shit. thats all im gonna say.

it was still an awesome time. more than worth going to.
