I like to use a mantra, or have an intention or thought as I enter into a yoga routine. Recently, I have been using short Rumi poetry passages to reflect on as I perform yoga, but I know that there are many things that the Buddha said that are not lenghty, but will help to clear my mind. Any recommendations? Should I start by looking in the Dhammapada? Or maybe you could recommend another Buddhist book? Thanks; namaste, Molly
The Dhammapada is good. Zen Flesh, Zen Bones by Paul Reps has 49 short Zen stories, the Ox Herding pictures and 112 one or two sentence entries on centering. The Tao Te Ching is excellent.
