Has anyone ever heard of anyone developing an allergy to a drug? I know I've never been allergic to codeine as I've done it many maany times before without any ill effects. Recently however, when I do codeine I experience much less euphoria and much much more nausea. To the point where I usually puke and it doesn't matter what the dose is. Sure, I used to get a bit nauseous if I did a high dose but I could always just lay down and relieve it in a few minutes. Laying down does nothing now. I've also tried diphenhydramine and dimenhydrinate with no help. Does this sound like an allergic reaction to codeine?
funnily enough the exact same thing happened to me for a whole year with alcohol, could touch a drop, i thought i was allergic, but i seem to be able to drink again.
well actually, i developed an allergy to caffeine after a couple years of insane daily ingestion of it. if i drink even a coke, i would be insane for about a week or two, i mean like feeling like your loosing grip or reality and just terrible, terrible things.
Well, I dont know about the stomach problems, that could be from damage caused by use, but my girlfriend once took 10mg's of OxyContin and looked like she was going to die! I about took her to the hospital but she came down from it and got back to normal after about 2 hours. She had trouble seeing, staying awake, couldnt breathe almost at all, and she used to be on a doctors order for 8 doses of 5mg's of Oxycodone daily. So you should see why this is strange, especially the bit about her not being able to breahte.
Well I just took about a week break from it and it seems to be better now. Thanks for the replies though!
