Lead Balloon

...a new sitcom co-written by and starring Jack Dee due to start on BBC4 at the beginning of October. Just seen a few trailers so far, it looks briliant "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is an obvious comparison judging by the clips I've seen.

Don't get BBC4 so god knows when I'll see this. Jack Dee's canny though so I'll keep an eye out for it on regular television.

Have we been watching the same adverts man..?? Desperately tired and unoriginal is the MOST generous i can be about this. Just how many more Alan Partridge/Curb your Enthusiasm "grumpy old man" characters do we need? There's only so many ways you can rewrite the same old lines. Sheesh.

I remember when Jack Dee used to be great, that must have been long before he started relying on the same agent as Jonathan Ross to keep plugging the drek he performs these days. Sad.

 

...just to add, the most funny thing about the show is the irony of it's name. Watch it not come back for a second series to your TV set soon!

 

A second series is currently being written. I think it's great It's a little bit "Curb", that's for sure, but it's just so subtle and underplayed. Fantastic stuff.

 

Subtle and underplayed...?? Again, i beg to differ. But it's nice to know someone still loves Jack anyway.
