So why did the oil price rise under Clinton? When oil prices go up under Democrats, it means nothing, but under Republicans it means there is a giant conspiracy? You still talk as if the US were the only country in the world and if the oil price goes somewhere it must be because of US political scheming. Its a big world out there any everyone is paying the same oil price.

And even OPEC isn't very good at controlling the oil price - we wouldn't be seeing such huge swings in the oil price if they could control it.

When you know the illusion, you waste no more time being attached to it :) and shift the focus to what will help.

added: ahh, but which level of the illusion?

Sorry dude you are all over the map. I can hardly follow you when you are going in 25 different directions at once. But I'll tell you two things - I definitely don't care about technical analysis. And your information sources are very bad. I come across a lot of people who claim they did a lot of "independent research" and how they think they have some impressive credentials, are very smart etc. Yet after all this "independent research", by what I am supposed to believe is sheer coincidence, they miraculously come to the same conclusions as what conspiracy websites are saying. So maybe you "independently" came to those same conclusions, but I doubt it.

    Lets looks at this point:
Not only is this completely false - the pipeline was never built, and is not even being built right now - but somehow you have managed to come up with all sorts of details on the construction and sale of a pipeline which never existed. Where did you get all these imaginary facts? It is bizarre.

I'd like to talk about WTC 7 and loose change, but we've got to start a new topic, because we'd be off topic on this one.

Oil production is now being reduced to boost sagging crude prices.

The petroleum industry is one of the few that are allowed to manipulate production and control prices, and the US public continues to buy into the shortage line...it's sad.

You talk as if the united states is the only country in the world. us oil companies decide how much oil is produced so they can control prices.

the thing is though, that complete garbage. the biggest oil producers are foreign governments - Iran, nigeria, russia, saudi arabia, venezuela. they contol production and thus are best placed to influence prices.

you seem to be ignoring this fact because it is inconvenient.

The US does not own nor has it ever owned Iraqi oil. Please get over this idea.

And keep in mind, of the Dow Jones Industrials, one out of 30 is an oil company. That means 29 out of 30 companies are paying for higher oil prices with lower profits. Funny how the whole of corporate america doesn't seem to mind this conspiracy. But of course "big business" is just a monolith, right?

Oil is a commodity. It is bought and sold. The US government does not manage or control the price.

Of course, that's why you came somewhere that you can preach to the converted. So you won't need facts or logic, just give people what they want to hear and they won't ask tough questions. Everybody's happy that way.

The executive order provides legal protection for the development fund and for US oil companies operating in Iraq from lawsuits originating in the United States. Iraq had a lot of unpaid debt, so US based creditors could have tried to seize proceeds of oil sales. Most importantly, it says absolutely nothing about the United States taking ownership of Iraqi oil.
But that's not what the story says - didn't you read the whole thing? The money was tranferred to Iraq's various ministries, which could not always account for it.
