    Are really freakin' annoying.

They ought to be dressed in clown outfits too.

Why would you want to do that to a poor defenseless animal anyway? I mean, i can see dressing up your animal for Halloween, but for a regular day? That's just retarded.

    And that's no bull.

So why DO you dress up your dog?

Because seriously...that's why they have fur.

If it's really cold out a short hairded dog could be happy to have clothes on even though they have fur.....

    Whatever though...

I have dressed up my cats....

    They just loved that.....

I always liked the human tee-shirt on a large dog for some reason.

    On another note,
Being a photo lab tech, I see a lot of pictures of people and their dogs and I find it ever so depressing (for both the woman and the dog) when I'll print an entire roll showcasing how cute Daisy looks with bows on her head as if she has pigtails. Old women are lonely, dogs are defenseless, I am depressed.

I think it's probably because they look at their pets as children and are worried that maybe they'll catch a cold if they're not dressed properly. [IMG]

I don't see dressing animals up for anything really, but I must confess that when I was a little girl I dressed my cats up in baby doll dresses and little bonnets and pushed them around in baby strollers. They actually seemed to like it though, or at least, I convinced myself that they did! :p

I had a friend that had to put 'shoes' on his dog when he came to the city during the winter. It was kinda wierd 'cause the dog could romp in a snowbank ok but it hated walking on cold sidewalks without it's feet protected.

The dogs should be allowed to attack the person who dressed them.

the only times my family dressed our dog up was during winter because it was very cold outside and our dogs fur was very thin and all we made it wear was a sweater and it was only when our dog went outside to goto the bathroom

tehehe I used to dress my dog up as a cat for halloween when he was younger. But ya, i do agree, it's embarassing for the dog to be dressed up in ridiculous clothes.

because -40C is fucking cold on an animal with very short/barely there fur.

that said, I've never owned a short-haired dog nor dressed an animal up (well, aside from putting a hat on my golden retriever, which got knocked off and eaten in about 5min flat, even funnier than just putting the hat on her)

Pugley is a "Pug" (obviously). And pugs shed almost worse than any other dog breed. And when I'm gonna spend a few hours laying around with Pugley relaxing, I put a shirt on him, so that he doesn't shed all over me, the couch, etc. I also like to put the shirts on him when we have company. So that he doesn't get hair all over them too. [IMG]

"Booties" for dogs...a lot of time, is for their safety. Paws on cold sidewalks with ice can damage the skin and make them bleed.

I guess it's just annoying to see those girls (a la Paris Hilton) dress their little chihuahuas or Pomeranians up in pink outfits for the FUN and FASHION of it. That's so lame. Animals are not accessories for crying out loud!
