    Hi,
I have something that my dictionary calls "inflammation of the bladder, cystisis".. My doctor gave me antibiotics but I'd rather not take them..
I was told by someone to get 'sour'.. eat yoghurt, cranberry juice, oranges.. Also I take propolis for better resistance, and I drink liters of water.. Will this be enough? My body should be able to get rid of this bacteria if I give it a hand right?!
But then I was told by someone to take the damn antibiotics (she was almost getting mad at me for not taking them..) because the bacteria could get to my kidneys and then I'd need surgery..
So now I'm scared haha.. Any advice? I have to take 4 antibiotica pills a day for 10 days man!
    Help is much appreciated!!

well it depends, if it's just a bladder, and it doesn't hurt you too bad you can manage with it in time, but if it's an UTI it probably has your kidneys caught in it, and you might not want to end up with kidney insufficiency later...take the antibodies

Funny, my sister has cyst on her bladder and everytime she has sex she gets AWFUL pains. She wasn't sure what was going on and got freaked out prior to knowing about them. She went to the Dr. several times. She actually just had surgery and had her appendix taken out because it was inflamed at the time but it wasnt at the previous checkups. They weren't sure if it was a problem but to rule it out they took it out....gosh thats doctors you for...anywho I got off subject. She told me she has to take antibiotics as well for them....personally I will NOT take them. You body will eventually just become immune to them.

only take the antibiotics if they cultured your urine and there is definitely an infection present. Otherwise, seek out the help of a different doctor. Intersticial Cystitis will not go away, no matter how many antibiotics you take, but there are things you can do that helps, and there are new treatments available that have been proven to be effective.

i have this right now too. i tried the natural route... vitamins, water, juices, herbs, cranberry pills... didn't work for me. (still taking cranberry pills, since it is more of a prevention thing, anyways, and i've cut out the vitamins and herbs for the moment so the antibiotics can do their job.) i say take the pills, it is so not worth it to fight with a uti (urinary tract infection) - they can get painful, and at the very least very uncomfortable. a bladder is part of the urinary system, and so are the kidneys, and yes, if a bladder infection is left untreated it can lead to a kidney infection.

i'm also on 10 days worth of pills. this is my 3rd try at curing this in two months since the previous doctor i went to did not check after i was done to make sure the infection was gone. so do make sure you go back to get rechecked when you finish with the antibiotics.

good move. that's kind of what i did too, after the first 2 times. i tried an herbal cure and set a deadline for myself, that if i didn't feel better by that day i'd go in again.

just so you know though, even if it doesn't hurt, there might still be something there. mine is to the point where it hardly ever really hurts, but i do know it's not gone yet.
