I tried really really hard back in the spring to encourage people to grow some weed in the great outdoors.
For some reason which I cannot figure out (except maybe most members here buy their weed with $$ from Mommy and Daddy) few peoplw followed my highly detailed thread.
I dug and spent and planted and watered and fertilized for the last 4 & 1/2 months, and now comes the pay-off.
Yesterday I harvested one of my early bloomers. I got about what will probably be 3 oz off this 2.5' tall bushy beauty.
I spent the better part of yesterday manicuring this sticky bitch and now the buds are in a paper bag starting the slow-dry process.
Over the next 5--6 weeks I'll be taking down 23 others, all between 2.5'--5' tall.

Everytime I take down a plant I label the bag it goes into (if I know the strain, otherwise it's like A1, A2, etc.). All the manicured buds from that plant go into a seperate bag except for a 2-bowl nug, which I stick in a drawer for 2 days.
This gives me a little test smoke, and my initial opinion will go in my grow journal.
Besides the test buds, none of the rest of the weed will be smoked until around x-mas. That's about how long my current stash will last.
I'm most anxious to try the Jack Herer and the Red Sonia, 2 strains which I've never smoked before.

Between x-mas & 01/01 I get together with my grower friends and we test out each others weed from this year's harvest. The buds I like best from my friends I will make a note of.
Around Jan 15 several of us go to the bay area Cannibus Co-op, to pick up some new strains we're interested in, and I ask people who have strains that I like to kick me out some clones.
After they're almost dry enough to smoke they go into jars for curing.

I have 24 plants all between 2.5'--5' tall which will yield between 2.5--5 oz each (gets out calculator). That's very roughly approx. 4.5--5 pounds of bud.
    Not too shabby.

P.S. As soon as I make the 60 mile round trip to the nearest place I can buy a cable (later this week) I'll try to get some pics up.

Aaah harvest time. You've certainly encouraged me to grow outdoors Rangerdanger. Although my first attempt was cut short by rippers I learned a lot about pest control. Hope you get a fine harvest and I'm sure many people will be encouraged to try again next year.

The thought of getting ALOT of buds from my own personal crop, is what inspired me the most, pictures and reports on harvest are the most uplifting and inspiring thing for a new grower like myself to hear.

You inspired me ranger, next year I'll be growin a crop outdoors hopefully (crosses fingers) But I started into it too late in the year to do an outdoors crop, so I'm just indoor at the moment, and that will help prepare me for the great outdoors :D

So i get my licience about a couple months before its time to start planting outdoors. this means im going to go and start scoping out the mountains near by and get trail maps and take a good month or however long ill have to find the perfect spot. the only problem is i was reading about the mountains around here and they are pretty scarce in water but i bet there are some streams somewhere. i was just wondering if i cant find any streams close to a good spot what your advice would be?

Plants need water min. of 2x/week. If it doesn't rain you will have to bring it to them.
    A 6' tall plant drinks a gal/water or more every 3 days.
Water weighs 8.5 lbs. per gal.
So you will have to carry it from the nearest water source, which might be your house.

rangerDanger... You're an inspiration to us all.
Congrats on the sick harvest. 5 lbs.!!!! Un-fricking-believable. Unfortunately, I live with my parents :( so i have to find a good place to try and grow a plant. I ordered 10 white widow seeds. Do you have any experience with this strain?

Once I figure out how to work my digi-cam I will.
I took a lot of pics and stored them on Phototag, the next day they were gone.
I took more, tried to post some here but they were "too big", now they're gone too.

Rangers like the king :p, ya Im gonna reread your guide a few more times and start my first gurrilla grow next spring after the first frost. Im thinking of growing some White russians which I still have, I got em from a member on this forum that just hasnt been here in forever, he had a good grow comin along too. Once I get th ose fuckers here from my buddys house Imma start them around march-april maybe may indoors, Gonna start 2 of em real early to put in my backyard behind my shed, as a little test. and the best and healthiest ones will go down the trails somewhere remote where I can get close to water and start a compost.from there Ill check on em every 3 days or so to make sure theyr doin good. May I just ask something. How Could I transport somewhere around 5-6 plants to the outdoors at once?? The area I live in isnt that bad when it comes to pot but I jus feel better when people dont notice me goin down the shitty trails on my bike 5-10 times a day.
