Salvia with a glass water pipe -- SCREEN?

hey guys,

I recently picked up a glass water pipe from a local head shop.
I also bought a 10-pack of screens for the pipe.

The problem is, the screens are WWAAYY too big for the choke/bowl. In fact, the choke/bowl is very little.

Is this how everyone's glass water pipes are? What do you guys do to accomodate it for salvia use with a screen?

I could cut down the screen, but like i'm saying it's very small.. If I had to compare it to something, i'd say look at your computer screen mouse pointer. Make that into a circle (from the tip to the end) and thats about how big it is ( )

Is this how it's supposed to be or am I missing something?

Also - one more question. Since I have the water pipe, should I put ice or water or something else in there to cool the smoke down?

I've had a hard time in the past getting salvia down to an effective manner, and I heard glass pipes work good.. but it seems glass pipe's aren't made for salvia and you have to do some things so they work.

Is this how it is or am I missing something?

it works great.. all my super crazy times on slvia we smoked it through water bong... it works =) no ice needed. it doesnt burh ur thorat, strangley liek cigs smoke or weed...
