Ok, so this is sort of embarassing and... idk, i just usually don't talk about things like this, it's just the way i am... but here goes...

So, on, about August 20th my last real period ended. And then 28 days passed and i was sort of like "oh no, what if i have somehow gotten pregnant?!?" I seriously doubt this now, but it seemed very VERY scary at the time, y'know? And yesterday i had this weird period like thing (hence the title), that was (sorry if this is rather disgusting) just dark colored thick weirdness. And now, tonight, it is pretty much gone. Does anyone have any idea what might have happened there? Sorry if this is a sort of odd question, but, like i said, i don't usually talk about this sort of thing. And if you know be from other places on the forums, i will talk about almost anything. almost.

did you first start your period within the last 2 years? if so, weirdness here and there is completely normal.

that sounds exactly like the "implantation spotting" (what doc called it) I always experienced when pregnant. Have you taken a pregnancy test?

Sometimes period blood is dark if your period is later than usual. Because dark blood(almost brown) means the blood is old. But if there is a chance of pregnancy, you should take a test to be sure.

I had the exact same thing every now and again until I turned 20. I even skipped a period at age 18 once, and I've been getting my periods since I was 12. I would take a pregnancy test if you are really that worried.

Take a pregnancy test. Implantation spotting (this is where the fertilzed ovum buries itself into the uterus wall, and some womyn will spot for a time. This usually only lasts a couple of hours. If it happened while you were sleeping, the blood could have gotten oxidated (exposed to oxygen) during the night, and came out dark and thick.

It could also be a NON Ovulatory period. These are often late, dark and thick and sometimes accompanied by either terrible cramps, or none at all.

Taking a pregnancy test is the best choice. The sooner you know, the better you can make choices and take care of yourself. If you are pregnant you NEED to know, if you aren't, taking the test won't cause you to become so. I know it is an anxiety provoking situation, but it's part of being a sexually active womyn.

It only takes a few minutes. You get more accurate results with first morning urine.

    Good luck.

Like i said, i seriously doubt i'm pregnant, that last post was made when i was like, dead exhausted and i definitely get a little off when i'm sleepy. The only sexual activity i had.... i don't wanna get specific, but... yeah... i doubt it. I'm thinking its a non ovulatory period, like Maggie was talking about. Thank you all so much for your help. :)
