i love the blood brothers. some of there stuff is pretty scary and messed up, but theyre still one of my favorite bands at the moment. Denver Max is another really creepy song.

Not sure how to interpret 'smashing', usually means marvellous round my neck of the woods. But going off Children of Bodem's reply! I think Aphex Twin's "Come To Daddy" would be a good addition. All that "I will eat your soul" stuff is pretty fucked up.

i dont know if this is "smashing," but one of the most touching to me is "I dont know what i loved in you, i dont know what you loved in me, maybe a picture of somebody you were hoping i might be...." and "such an empty surprise, to feel so alone" by jackson browne(late for the sky). i guess bc they really sum up my feelings at the moment

 

I believe that what "smashing" means is lyrics that when you hear them it is in your opinion "the easiest way to express an opinion that you have had."

It dosent have to be in a morbid scence or anything, that's just how I think.
