Just curious about who else on here is in College majoring or planning on majoring in history. I was a business major, but just recently switched to History at the University of Wisconsin @ Stevens Point, and I'm loving it.
I wish to major in history, but I will probably just finsh up electrical engineering should I go back. If I could I would never stop working on phd's in history.
I was majoring in Spanish, but now i'm switching to social studies.. so i can teach history, geography, sociology, world cultures, and anything like that
i wanted to do social studies for a while... but i decided teaching was not for me. very cool, though, you get a really great humanities education going for a teaching degree in s.s.
ever hear of michelet ....he wrote like a bunch of histories of france .......and kropotkins "the great french revolution " is awesome ....it heavily influenced pol pot ....said the revolution failed cause it stopped short of its completion .
I love it... art is the window into the world, past, present or future. If you like art, and history..BINGO! I love it. It took me 6 years to discover what I want to study. Look it up. You might like what you see.
English and History double major. Love all types of history but mainly New Zealand history and British history.
History major and current high school history teacher reporting in. Graduated from a fairly prestigious New Jersey university and currently teaching World and American history. I really love what I do. It's great to have a captive audience five times a day, 45 minutes at a stretch. I'm pretty young, too, so I find that this helps kids relate to me. All in all, I'd recommend history for somebody who wants to work within the field. Don't major in history if you're just going into the business world. Study history, love it, and pass it on!
I plan to major in secondary education and minor in history. I want to be a high school history teacher.
hey just finishing up a degree in ecotourism and thinking about going to a different school as a history major anyone give me any advice
Well, I spent a term at a Uni, and my major was history, then I realized what school was really all about and that I could learn more on my own, especially from first hand experience. There's no better way to learn about something that's happened in the past than to go to the area in which it took place and talk with the locals etc....History is just one of my many loves, so the life of a nomad is the life I've chosen in order to combine all the things I love in life. You learn soooo much, just from talking to people....
