Do you use any if these shells and theme skinners? I use Aston combined with windowblinds You can radically alter the way windows looks with these things its amazing what you can actually do to get away from that all too familiar XP style- You can give XP the windows Vista look This is how my desktop looks now http://astonshell.com http://www.stardock.com ______________________________________________
I'm using Windowblinds on one of my computers to make XP look more like MacOS X. I took a screen cap of it and sent my friend, he freaked out and said, "What the hell did you do!?" It's pretty fun to be able to customize Windows without killing it. Otherwise I put XP in Classic mode, I can't stand how XP normally looks.
You should try Aston, it actually replaces the windows shell and although the skins can be a bit buggy - it does add an excellent dimension to working with windows. Its easy to change back to the explorer shell if you dont like it. Also if you are using window blinds you should try desktopx by stardock thats absolutely brilliant, but a little expensive in terms of memory.
Excellent a litestep user - wow - I really like the look of litestep and from what I've heard people who run it usually become fairly fanatical - trouble is I tried following all the readme's and still cant get it to work on XP - I think I once got it to work in win98 or 2000 about 3 or 4 years ago WOW ! just seen the bblean website ! Didnt even know BBlean existed but it looks great - a lot like litestep but is it as much hassle to configure as litestep? People should check this out ! (the bblean homepage) http://bb4win.sourceforge.net/bblean/ this is a few bblead desktops - I like the one at the top-left hand corner http://www.boxshots.org/style/ some of the designers who work on these shells and windows skins are just unbelievably talented. Some of the stardock and aston themes are like a work of art, and as for the wallpapers they design, well sometimes you have to wonder how come they got enough time to make these things they look like they spent months or years on the total look of some themes
