I have it :( and it sucks. Last night Mya slept for 6 and a half hours and I woke up before her because I was soooo full of milk I thought I was going to die! (She usually eats every 3 hours) My left boob hurt really bad but I fed her and went back to sleep and this morning I woke up and I felt like I had the flu. I brought Lily and Mya in my room and didn't get out of bed until almost noon then I got up and called the doctors and then I called my mom so she came over and was helping me out. She is picking up my prescription for my antibiotics right now. I'm going to go lay down. This sucks :(

I hope you feel better soon. Keep nursing the baby, drink water (don't stuff yourself, but you should be thirsty, as Mastitis always occurs with a fever) you can take Motrin for the pain and fever. (You can take up to 600 (3 pills) to 800 (4 pills) mgs every 6-8 hours, or 400 mgs(2 pills) every 4 hours, whichever works better for you) Make sure you get enough salt. Not enough salt can predispose you to Mastitis. I put moms to bed, with the baby, a jug of water and a glass, warm, wet compresses or a heating pad, a bottle of Motrin, their DiCloxicillian or Cloxicillain) and a bag of potato chips or salty pretzels.

Get a lot of rest and nurse the baby. I hope you feel better.

BTW, what antibiotic were you given?

Thanks :) Yea I got really thirsty earlier so I've been drinking lots of cold water. I had a fever earlier but I took Motrin so it's not as bad. I didn't know about the salt thing, I'll send my hubby for a bag of potato chips, lol. They prescribed me Cephalexin 500mg to take every 6 hours.

Try to skip the bra to because the pressure can aggravate the ducts.
