    the rainbow thing used to be a christian symbol...but now it is known for gays too. They have alot of symbols...i have alot of gay friends so you all know the purple triangle and theres one i forget it's much more discreet it's like blue and oh someone help me ...looks mexican kinda design. My friend wears a necklace when he works and stuff so it's not like HELLO I"M GAY JUDGE ME....that is what he says. Anyway i love rainbows too and i have a pair of jeans my favs that have rainbows embroidered on the butt pockets and i wear them and think they are my gay pride jeans...my gay boys loved that...always commented on them. I don't care what people think my sexual orientation is....i know and it's definitely MEN:p all the way...hmmm speaking of i'm still looking;)

    The Purple Triangle was sewn onto the clothes of gay people in consentration camps in Nazi Germany (like a star of david was sewn onto the Jewish people who were in the camps)

    The Rainbow flag was desinged by some guy in the 80's to represent gay pride. Each colour represents somthing I think!

    I hope this helps! :)

    really? thats interesting makes me wonder why they would want to embrace if it came from that....not a very positive thing. Do you know what i mean about the blue it's like 3 lines if i remember right really simple but it's like only gay people really know it. or that is what he said

    Nah, I never heard about the blue thing I don't think. BUT when it was Illegal to be gay gay's wore a gold ring on the little finger on they're right hand... I'm guessing they blue thing was desinged for the same reason.

    The gay pride flag, which was debuted at the 1978 San Francisco Gay and Lesbian Freedom Day Parade, was designed by Gilbert Baker. It's inspiration came from the black civil rights and hippie movements.

    Each color on the gay pride flag (also known as the rainbow flag) has a different meaning. Test your knowledge below.

    Rainbow Pride Flag

    RED = Life
    ORANGE = Healing
    YELLOW = Sun
    GREEN = Nature
    ROYAL BLUE = Harmony
    VIOLET = Spirit
    Adding a black stripe to the bottom of the flag represents victory over AIDS.
