yay!!! Congrats! That's so sweet that she's sleeping on you now, I guess she got as much as she needed and zonked out! Good job, mama!
CONGRATULATIONS! Best wishes to your new family! What a gorgeous little girl. Welcome to the wonderful world of parenthood and motherhood. Yeah, breastfeeding can be difficult... my boys were breastfed AND top-up formula fed, with each feed. I didn't have much milk, but if I went without a breastfeeding session, watch out! The boobs started hurting, then squirting...
Great that she latched on....I was shouting at the computer "nonononono!" and then "YES! YES!" General rule of thumb, no pacifiers for the first couple of weeks. Or else you risk nipple confusion and bringing down your milk supply. So remember, if she's fussy, put her to your breast. Your smell and the suck will settle her more quickly than a paci. And no more bottles. You've got this. You know you can do it. And we're all here to support you. And hospital LCs suck. *lots of hugs to you, momma* GOOD JOB!
Because I'm so proud....this is 2 days after baby....I have a belly button again! Woohoo! Still a little swollen in my fundus, but I've been massaging that....so, it should go down. My poor stretch marks....they don't look nearly as bad as I thought they did while I was pregnant. She's worth them, though. Yes, I'm glad the latching on happened tonight. I just hope she can keep it up! She only nursed one breast, so the other feels tight and sore....I can totally tell the difference, even though it's been pumped.
CONGRATS!!!!!! she's just adorable! I'm so happy for you! You've just started the best journey of you life! Great to hear that the bf is going better now! Hang in there! You're a stong mama!!! lol, that's a great 2 day post-baby belly! I looked like santa clause for like 3 weeks after....and when I laughed it would jiggle up and down like you see those fat kids doing with thier bellies all the time.......I think that I posted that before, but seeing yours made me think of that, lol as for the stretch marks, they do fade. They never completely go away...mine have now turned a silver color and kinda blend in a little better. *hugs* and congrats again!
Congratulations, she is adorable Good to know trhings are going well, wishing you all the best. "May you touch fireflies and stars, dance with fairies and talk with the man on the moon. May you grow up with love and gracious hearts and people who care. Welcome to the world little one, it's been waiting for you."
She is absolutely beautiful--I'm glad that your labor went so quickly!! you have me all tearing up now..darn pregnancy hormones!!!
moon flower, You look fantastic! Mine is like that right now, lol. It reminds me of Homer Simpson when he touched his belly and it jiggled for a long time after.
Welcome to the world Alexis. And what a wonderful day to be born on. You know only the smartest, hippiest people in the world are born on September 24. Oh yeah that reminds me I got to go change that age thing in my profile. Happy Babymoon Mama. Kathi
yeah, you look amazing. I couldn't stand up straight 2 days after Manny was born, but that might have been due to the angry line of stitches that ran across my middle...lol. I still like like an smushy, stripped mess, but oh well. He was worth it. But I am still totally jealous of your svelt little self!
you earned those tiger stripes mama, wear them with pride! ps, good on you for getting a good latch, it gets a lot easier with practice!
awwwww congratulations, you're both beautiful this thread made me smile i'm glad everything's going so well awwwww again
Thanks everyone! Standing straight up is hard, Icedtea....maybe it was the epidural....my back is killing me still, but I was told it's normal. I put on a show for the camera, though. Lol....I was in pain. I'm glad about the latch on aswell. I get the sweet little cuddle she does after she falls asleep on the boob. When she's full, she just curls up and gets as close as she can to my heartbeat and sleeps. It's wonderful. She never did that with the bottle.
Yeah for you and Baby! I skipped out for a few days and theres a new addition! Congrats you look great and that little girl is too cute!
I am SO glad you got her latched. I just read the first post about not being able to latch and I was gonna look for a good LC in your area. HF is right, most hospital LCs just don't have the time to do a great job. Some do, but, I've met some who didn't even nurse their own kids, or even try to, they just started getting introduced as the "Lactation Nurse" and some of them aren't even IBCLE Certifed or Registered. Let me know if you have any more problems, I can find you an LC (private one) and a LLL group. A La Leche League group can be a Godsend. A room full of mamas, doing just what you are doing, all helping each other. I probably wouldnt have been able to continue to nurse my first baby Sunshine if I hadn't been going to League. She got TERRIBLE nipple confusion, and no one even knew what it was, except the mamas at LLL. I went to a meeting as soon as I could drive. It saved us both. Really. LCs are fantastic for specialized lactation issues, and individual instruction, LLL is for SUPPORT, which most moms need even more. I'll find you some groups.
Moonflower, you look great! You're a lot like me, my shape bounced back quickly after I had my kids. Even when I had my twins, my belly looked pretty flat 24 hours later, I kid you not. I had so many people say to me "you had TWINS? You don't even look like you had one baby, much less two!" I was really fortunate. So definitely be proud Moon! You look beautiful!
