I may have asked this in the past, but I honestly don't remember and if I did, I probably forgot to come back to the thread. LOL, I do that a lot. Does anyone else get diarrhea when they're menstruating? Like, really, really bad? I get diarrhea really easily, I'm more sensitive to dairy and some meat products than is probably normal, but sometimes when I get my period, it's so bad it's almost unbearable. I've cut down on my dairy intake quite a bit, which helps most of the time, except during my period. Is there something I can do to make the situation a little less... nasty?
I get that too, really bad. all together, I just have one hell of a weak stomach....which never helped the situation. The thing that seemed to make it the worst when I had really bad cramps and the only thing that took it away was a heating pad and tylenol.
that's one of my endo symptoms... When I stopped eating foods that don't agree with me, it got much much better. When doc surgically removed the endo, the chronic bowel troubles went completely away.
Diarhea a quit common symthom. I once read in a women's homeopathy book about the different medications for period treatments, and one of them had diarrhea as a symthom. I just don't remember what it was, as I don't have the book myself.
i was wondering that myself. lol because 2-3 yrs ago i never ever got it. but now its like eevery time i get my period i have the flu. i'm eating soup and the bathroom is my home for the week. Not so much cramping but just a pain in the rear . I suppose you can say your body is developing more. PG
no, not normal. Maybe commonplace, but not normal. Too many women figure out the cause of the menstrual-related bowel issues and it goes away for them. You don't have to put up with it.
I used to, but the treatment for my migraines (SSRIs and strong pain killers) has reduced this symptom. There is a hormone released to cause the muscles in the uterus to contract, in some womyn, they make more of this hormone than their uterus needs, and the hormone goes around looking for similar tussue to cause to contract. The Large Intestine fills the bill for this. This is similar to why you get Labor Diarrhea. (But, in labor, the runs also clears out the way, so you can push easier, without, um, pooping too much then) but the mechanism is similar.
I usually have some stomach problems along with other things... Mostly pms, eating lots of food and bloating haha
I get it a few days before i get it.. that is how I would no it is coming... all the females in our house have had the same thing
