I didn't know where to post this...but I guess hair is this weeks subject! WoW!! I did it!! I was never really attatched to my long hair anyhow. I just really haven't had the time in nearly three years to do it. i have always had shorter hair, and....missed it! So yesterday I finally bit the bullet and made the time! I had 15" chopped off. Plus you have to factor in the inch or two above the pony tail that got chopped away too! I love it!!! I feel like I lost 10 pounds! CRAZY! One of my girls was kind of freaked out, and a bit mad a me. She told me "I looked like a lady.", meaning a stranger! And then said "You got no more beautiful hair."! But I am donating my hair to 'Locks of Love' to help someone who would love a head full of hair. Lord knows I don't need it! So I will attatch my flick photos! Don't mind my serious mug of myself!! http://www.flickr.com/photos/avaloos/250134921/
wow...cool. i donated 10" in dec, but my hair was super long, and still is pretty long. good for you! i like the style peace.
Wicked I donated all my hair when I was 12 to Locks for Love... I think it was about 17 inches The short hair looks great on ya
wow, that's awesome! That is going to make someone out there so happy. I had a friend in high school who had hair down to her bum, never dyed or anything. She SHAVED her head! lol I couldn't believe how bassly she was to do that! Her dad died of cancer, so it was a really personal thing. But just as awesome!
I think I am about ready to donate my hair again. Don't you just feel lighter after you cut off that much hair? The shorter hair looks really cute. It gives me courage
I chopped 20 something inches once and had about 2 inches left on my head and my hair curled! It was so weird. It curled into theses little ringlets. You look great by the way. You'll save $$$ on shampoo!
That happened to me, too! I never even had waves until I cut off a serious amount of hair, then it was curly. Who knew?
Y'all need to know that LoL is a VERY sketchy charity. They admit they sell the hair and buy hairpieces for alopecia children ONLY. they do NOT serve children with temporary baldness from chemo, except some girls with synthetic wigs. You are MUCH better off selling your hair (for more than LoL can get) and donating cash. BBB has had bad reports of LoL's bookkeeping.
i'm thinking about cutting my hair my senior year and giving it to locks of love. it's pretty damn long right now, but i'm wayyy too attached to it to cut it off. but your hair looks really nice short!
well, that sucks. i thought it would be a "better, nicer thing" to donate it rather than sell it...... so, where could you go to sell it? and also, if LOL is a scam, where would you donate the $$ to? ya know, i'd much rather find some kid who needed it and just give it to her! blah. i hate corporations. peace.
Hey, I have a question about Locks of Love. My hair's only a little past shoulder length, but I'm getting about 5-7" cut off soon. Perhaps Locks of Love could use it to make bangs on the wigs.
yeah, zoomie cut his hair off last year and was goign to donate it to locks of love, but found out what a scam it is. we still have the hair.
to sell, look for wig makers or the fetish market (you would be surprised...) LoL is OK with cash, but they mis-repped what they do using the Big C for years. they are better now, but still a bit dodgy. I'd go through a local oconology ward, myself (I tend to raise $$ by being a walker/ runner in events) if I was interested in donating for cancer. My "disease of the Week" is hydrocephalus (a brain malformation).
it takes me so long to grow my hair.... and once it finally gets long, because it's so thick, I end up chopping tons of it off when the warm weather kicks in... then I get frustrated again with having too short hair that I can't do anything with! lol... such a cycle...
I used to be that way with bangs. Would vow to grow em out then get annoyed with the in between phase and chop em off. Feel bad I gave in and start to grow em out. Took me nearly 5 years to get it all "under control"
