So me and a couple friends are seeing Roger Waters on the 12th of October at the KeyArena in Seattle(to which I have never been), and we're gonna try to get some joints past security. There are two kinds of searches they can use, Visual and Full searches. Anyone been to this arena, or arenas with similar rules, who can tell me what search they're most likely to use at a Waters concert?

Here's a description of the two...
    Visual Search Procedure
A visual search will be conducted when facility management determines that certain items might be brought in to an event, but the
potential of crowd volatility is low. The search procedure will consist of:
    A. Visual scan of each patron as they walk by in single file.
    B. The patron is asked to open his/her coat; any purses or handbags, and displaying the contents to the searcher.
    C. If an inappropriate item is found, the patron will be given the option to dispose of the item before entry. If the item is of an illegal
nature, Seattle Police may be brought in for investigation.
This type of search is designed to be conducted quickly and efficiently so as not to slow down the ingress of patrons. Unless a patron is
asked to open his or her handbag or coat, the majority of patrons do not realize they have been searched. Inappropriate items may
include, but not limited to coolers, video cameras, laser pointers, food and beverages, cans, bottles or other hard containers.

    Full Search Procedure
A full search will be conducted when facility management determines that the potential of inappropriate and illegal items being brought
into the event is high. The search procedure will consist of:
    A. A series of “check points” that act as a crowd management tool during ingress into the event.
    B. Visual scan of each patron as they walk by in single file.
    C. Separate “General Admission” and “Reserved Seating” ticket-holders lines.
    D. Search of each patron by either physical pat down (voluntary) or metal detection device for items not permitted in the facility (i.e.
    weapons, illegal drugs, alcohol, etc.).
This search is required for the safety of the patrons, entertainment, facility, and its staff. If at any time a patron does not wish to be
subjected to a search, he or she may return his or her ticket to the Box office and arrange for a refund of the ticket price by mail. If an
item is found on a patron during the search, the KeyArena facility management will decide whether entrance to the event will be
granted. If illegal items are confiscated, the Seattle Police will be brought in
    to investigate the matter.

It says the pat-downs are voluntary, but I'm still a bit paranoid, as I've read from various(slightly dated) sources that everyone's gotta go through pat-downs. Our plan is for one of us to wear swimshorts under his jeans, and to put the jay's in one of those little water pocket things. If anyone can point out a flaw in this, I'd really like to hear it now. Plus, if anyone's ever been to this arena, can you fill me in on how tight security is in there? This is probably one of the most important events of my life, and I ain't looking to get busted.

Also, anyone else going to this one? I'm fucking stoked beyond belief.

dude most venues are pretty easy to get stuff into especially something like two jays. put em in a pack of smokes is an option if you are worried or in your sock. I usually just keep em in my pocket and go through the pat down and they just wave me through. even if they do find em they'll jsut ask you to throw them away ain't no big deal.

I went to a blink 182 concert a while back (I know, I know bad band, I had bad music taste back then), and they conducted pat-downs there. It is absolutely nothing to worry about, all they do it pat you down your side's and that's it. Since your not allowed camera's, my friend just put a camera in his undies, and walked through.

Wear pants with pockets by your knees and put them in there by themselfs. Always works for me. I wouldn't put them in a cigarette pack. Alot of venues open your cigarette packs if they're not sealed. Unless you put them in there and keep them by your nuts.

Yeah, we're planning to bring about six joints or so, and probably another dub to smoke out of a pipe. They got metal detectors, though, anyone know if lighters set off metal detectors?

They might, but who cares? If it sets off the alarm you take the lighter out, walk through again, and are home free. I've never had a lighter taken from me going into a show - or anywhere for that matter.

Buy a green tube garcia y vega or white owl etc. Roll a blunt with the cigar inside, or just toss it. Drop your jays and blunt in the tube and stuff it down the side of your shoe or tape it to the inside of your leg or some shit.

I dont know about Waters, but when I've seen Allman Bros, Phish, moe, et al the most thorough check I've gone through is patting the sides of my waist and legs. Most of the time everyone working knows there will be a lot of stoners at the show and dont care that much because they have better things to look out for. The only place I've seen people get in trouble for tree was at a club when I saw Capelton, and even then they just had their stash taken and let back in.

We're probably gonna leave that back at the hotel, smoke out of it later on or earlier on.

I'm not too worried anymore, but here in Spokane one of the main venues is really uptight. They got security up on the balcony, shining flashlights on pot smokers, then someone goes down to bust them. At a fuckin' wailers concert, too, when one of the rastas was smoking on stage. The security guard I talked to smoked weed, and he laughed his ass off busting people and trying to bust people, I got interrupted several times while dancing by security going through.

I don't think such a big arena would be so square, though.

when i went to the G Unit concert like 3 years ago at GM place we were sitting in Isle seats smoking blunts, and security would walk by and only be concerned with fights, not even take a glance at the huge blunt getting passed around
