Need some help with my trip across Europe

ok so me and 3 friends are hiking across Europe for about 8 months or till we Run out of money once we graduate in 2008.. i think we will probaly start in England(i got family i have never met there) and just go from there

i havent really looked into prices seeing it still is a long ways away, but what we are planning to do is get an Open hostel ticket//Open train ticket? and just go for it.

Just wondering if anyone has been to any hostels that they would recommend//or that you have had a bad experience with.

or anything that we should check out that we could miss when we do our research

If you're going to start in England, make sure you set your budget, you'll find it's much more expensive than mainland Europe and you don't want to end up caining all your cash in the first couple of weeks of your trip.

You'll also find that mainland Europe hostels are a lot nicer than British ones and cheaper too.
