You need 2000+ degrees Fahrenhiet to fire clay, I still remember art class lol. You might want to glaze it, because if you put your mouth to bare (even fired) clay it tastes wierd, and the saliva kind of soaks into it. Glaze provides literally a glass coating, so its pretty awesome. Shouldn't be unhealthy for you really.
Oh, and there may possibley be local art classes, sign up and randomly show up for one class to fire that thing. You'll need to twice, one for the clay, another for the glaze. If you got a microwave to waste, microwave it on high for a few hours and see what happens haha.
Im guan make a spoon in my ceramics class, Im going to desguise it as a real sppon and hallow out the handle then drill the finle hoel and carb after its been fired. Hope my teacher dosent catch on or care, Im in the procces of making a bong to : 0 Ill glaze them all trippy after they are fired to make it even more obvious.
My friend made a tree trunk with mushrooms at the bottom he nocked the cap off one off the shrooms after it was fired and it worked perfect. That kid was the most creative stoner i'v ever know. The ceramics teacher did not have a clue.
