the original: update: I cut all the fur down and stripped the front piece off. but I can't take the other furry pieces off so I think I'm just going to try to make a cute vest out of this. ta dah! I love it now!
I think it is probably too thick to sew over. Maybe you could trim it? Then you might be able to do something with it.
ech, yea it doesnt look that good. is the fur sewn on top of the jacket, like a seperate piece? because then you could just rip the stiches out.
well some of it is, like the piece going down the front, but the fur around the neck is a part of the collar itself. I'll try trimming it and see if that doesn't make a ton of difference. I bet I could actually have fun sewing cool fabric/things on it and make it into something I really love...or I was thinking maybe I could make it into a vest...do you think that's possible?
i kinda like it now! im not a vest person myself, but i bet it would make a cute vest! or you could snip a slit a little ways up the arms and sew a piece of fabric in it to make flare cuffs (lace would look cool)
well i don't know about lace as it's a quilted style jacket and i'd like it to keep me warm. I'm almost finished turning it into a vest and I really like it a lot, although I don't quite see myself as a vest person, either. but it does look good on me! All I've got left to do is hem up the right sleeve and then I'll post another picture when it's finished. Maybe the girl who gave it to me would like it better now that I've fixed it up. she's definitely more of a vest girl than I am.
