my painting of my uncle/2nd father. I call it Robert because that was his name. For those of you who don't know the story, I'll sum it up for you: he died on July 6th, this year. He had stomach cancer a few years ago that ended up in his lungs last November. He was on a really harsh chemo program that made him have a heart attack. I loved him very much & I always will. This is my way of cooping & showing how much I love him. Just imagine me, but a 62 year old man if you can.... Tell me what you think.... Robert
me, that is! I realized this is someone who you all have no idea what he looks like so here's a couple photos to get the gist of it: this is about 2 months before the cancer came back. sorry it's fuzzy.... he obviuosly never used to be this skinny. and so this isn't totally centimental.....a silly picture from 1990 @ the twn towers w/ Marilyn..... hahaaha! gotta love 'em! - & the beard! thanx for the compliments guys!
P.S. - I forgot to mention I gave the painting to my Aunt, Lynette, Roberts wife. She started crying & said he would have been very proud...(I ignored the fact that we aren't supposed to use the "P" word in my house, my rents think it poses expectations for us...) but she really loved it. my rents want to buy a bench for him at the pier, he loved to walk on the pier. it's mighty expensive, & I don't think I'll be able to paint it... laaaaame...
haha, yep....i know it's silly....my dad came up w/ it in a headhsop a couple years ago because the woman we knew running it, asked if he was proud that i made it through high school, & Fonz replied "We don't say that in our house..." haahah it was a little rude, but it makes sense i guess but i'll only be in this house for a wee bit longer
hahah i wish! or...i used to wish my friend's dad's friend does, but i know a lot of the people that workt there, so the discounts are awesome
