can any of you tell me what the hashish laws are now in germany. went to the stuttgart spring fest back in 2005 and my friend got busted by some undercover police smoking a joint by the beerfest and was fined 100 euros and then brought to the police station on the fair grounds for some interrogation and then released. dumbass, told him not to be so uncool about it. heading back to my favorite country again in 2007 as I do every year. I have such a kickass time in germany!! I even had some germans ask me why an american tourist would want to visit stuttgart anyways.......I said...the beer of course!! Only kidding, I was stationed there back in the days when the usa was liked. oh well 2 more years of bush and things will change. danke!! congrats on the fine job in the world cup....we german-americans were rooting for you!!

I can't tell a lot about the laws.

It really depends on the amount you're caught with, and the amount that is considered for private consume varies from state to state from something like one gramm to 30 gramm.... But Baden-Württemberg is usually on the very strikt side....

From people I know that got caught, they usually get away with a fine and their drivers licence being taken away...

But there are better places to smoke up then some beer fest. come on, there's alcohol involved, there have to be a lot of cops.....

    Hi there!
As Kafro said, it very much depends in which State in Germany you are and which political party is in power of that state.
If you are lucky the policeofficers themself smoke, or the judge does! Hashisch is surely one thing in this country (like many others) which shows how the written law has been superseded by social consciusness.
However, I would not suggest to anyone to have a smoke on a Bierfest (like Kafro did) and to be fairly honest, I, personally, couldn´t imagine wanting to have a joint there  ! If you as a foreigner are getting busted, you probably just get fined and evicted!

yes it depends on the land you are.I was in berlin and man, there it felt like being in amsterdam..everyone was having joint everywhere..even in normal bars..really laid back..you can carry until 20 g as personal usage (in italy thanks to the last shitty right-wing government turned back to 0,3-0,5!!..pathetic)...then I don't get why you shouldn't smoke on a fest..beer fest is any other fest..I don't see what's the concern about it..if i happen to be back in berlin(as I hope) by 2007 we'll light one together....

beer fests are different. where there's a lot of beer (or other alcoholic beverages), there's a big potential of violence, which means that there are a lot of cops. And they just don't look out only for violent drunk people...

There are many fests where there sure is beer, I mean after all, we're talking about germany here, but they are not beer fests.

Dont Bitch in the U.S you get arrested your car impound and Butt fuck by a big black guy in prison then you get push around by correctional officers "or kill by 1 of them ". Germans in general have more freedom than the U.S retards who think this is the land of freeedom under Bush/Hitler regime.

You gotta calm down dude....I'm asking about german hash laws not your "retard" political opinion. I've lived in europe for 7 years and no they don't have more freedoms.....I, like you, can't stand bush but the usa is still the land of freedom compared to all others! I remember when the germans protested outside an american base for putting missles there in the cold war....and then they protested against closing the base the next week when we were going to close it. hhhmmm thanks everyone for the update on the hash laws....

    Hi mopperem1!
Well I don´t really want to start a political discussion here about who has more freedom and so on. However, I think "freedom" for one, is not "freedom" for everyone. I know some downtown L.A. kids, that most certainly would not agree with you regarding the "freedom" in the states. If you´re born and raised in the pits your chances for "freedom" are not so good, no matter what country you´re in! Moreover, they might be worse in the states, than in a lot of other countries!

those germans were allways smarter than we are. you speak of feedom and Bush alone have set as back to the british empire again with a more modern twist of the 1930s german gestapo.

whatever.....has nothing to do with smarts, although the vacation part sucks and we do work to much, took me 4 years to get 3 weeks, but a bunch of holidays. but unemployment is at 5% and theirs is at what...12-15%. imagine if we didn't have those millions of illegals. now if you got anything to say about the german hash laws then go to some "I hate the usa" thread somewhere.

are You sure about what you say about illegals in your country? Words like this remind me of some phrases used by nationalist parties in Germany trying to tell us that people from other countries take "our" jobs... At the moment I would say - at least for many of the real low paid or dirty job if they did not do it, nobody would do it, at least no Germans. (Maybe it is a social thing - we also have some political discussions about minimum wages for example like those existing in Great Britian for many years now. But I am not sure if this cause a real change...) What about your country?
