Good lord, my counselor must die.

Well, my mom's forcing me to go see a counselor since I was caught smoking pot. She doesn't think anything is wrong with me or anything, she just wants me to talk to him about me lying to her and disobeying her. In other words, she wants a professional to tell me that I was wrong so maybe I'll believe him over her just 'cause he's some asshole in a chair twisting everything I say into a completely opposite meaning.

Here's the deal. The guy starts asking me why I think it's all right for me to disobey my parents, and I tell him. The reason I think it's okay, is because at least in this one instance (all you naysayers will just have to give me the benefit of the doubt if you don't believe) they're totally wrong. You know, they've never had a problem with me making my own choices about things in life, but when I do something they think they know more about and think it's bad, they won't let me. Even though I've shown them countless amounts of evidence to prove contrary. They're just completely unreasonable with fear that I will fuck up and become a coke head like they did. I tell the guy this, and this is what he says:

"I sense that you're very angry with your parents. Maybe you just feel like you need to get away from them, and you do this by disobeying their rules and using marijuana."

That doesn't make sense, though. It's not like they don't give me freedom already. They've given me a lot of freedom, this is just the one area they won't admit they're wrong and let me make my own choices.

So, he tells me maybe I feel like I have too much freedom and I need discipline, and that's why I keep doing it to get caught.

Which doesn't make sense considering I've taken every counter-measure against getting caught, and have just been fucked over.

So you know what he says next?

"You're just in denial?"


WTF?!?! How am I supposed to debate that?


By the end of the fucking session I was put on a prescription to some shit, I don't know. I'm not taking the damn things.


Why are counselors such ass-backward psycho-drivel pricks?

 

I hate counselors because they go by books not a case to case type of deal. They always say the same shit "Youre angry at your parents arent you", you willa lways walk out witha perscription unless your parents deny it.

 

Do NOT take that prescription.

Fuck govt drugs, they're just used to dope up normal up and dumb down.


While we use them to turn on tune in and drop out


Just go along with it and pretend you're paying attention.

Unless they start drug testing you, you can always find a way to not get caught. I've been doing it since I was 14, now I'm 18 and couldn't care less if I do (get caught).

Try things like only smoking at friends houses and concerts and other outtings where you'll be gone for a while. If you smoke enough you're probably already able to be completely fucking zonked, while looking and acting completely "normal", so if need be just get high BEFORE you go home and whatnot. Buy visine, and put it in BEFORE you burn and after. Remember to do it BEFORE you burn because if you dont your eyes will be too fried and there wont be anything you can do.

or try, if oyu can hide a bowl, try smoking outside at like 3am or so (it's the summer so that shouldn't be hard, just sneak out and burn in the yard)


Fabreeze is a BIG FUCKING HELP! If you must smoke in your room, try a spoof and some fabreeze. A spoof is when you take a toilet paper roll without any toilet paper, and stick five or so dryer sheets in it and when you exhale, exhale into it, and have a fan in your window and exhale right in to the fan. When you're done burning, fabreeze the shit out of your room and smoke a cigarette if you smoke. Cigarettes hide it great too and kind of neutralize everything.

 

The guy WAS basically paid by your parents to tell you that you are wrong and they are right. Of course he will just keep generating that bullshit.

 

And there's nothing they do better than bullshit you into feeling bad.

 

Very true my friend had one before (a counselor) and one day he had enough, freaked out and the guy never wanted to see him again, and that was the end of that, try flipin out on him.

Actually, I've been wanting to just do the most lewd thing I could imagine in that room. I can't stand him. I want to take a huge, steaming dump on this persian rug he has in there that I can just tell he spent a shitload on, 'caue he has this little mini-vac at easy access. That fuck.


Oh, and I'm already being tested. I normally fool them, my parents just found my stash when I was at a friend's tokin' up, and when I got home that night surprised me with a test. No way I would've passed it. FUcking bastards.

 

It's only good to do that in court.

i know what you mean abut consolors. every one i've ever been to up until now was full of shit. "do you think you might have a drug problem?" "no" "denial first sign!" what the fuck do you say in that situation? but not all of them are full of shit. as part of my probation, i have to go to meetings with this drug counsolor, and its totally independent of my parents. i even applied for medical independent of my parents to pay for it. and he is a former drug user, so he completely empathizes with me. and hes not trying to force me to quit using drugs. we just talk about drugs and effects and whats going on. i can tell him about when i use and what i use, and hes not judgemental about it. he even incouraged me to try acid, if only once (though im stuck lying to him because the first meeting i wasnt completly honest with him) but his whole thing is about safe using, education, moderation, and not using for the wrong reasons. hes great, and i always feel better after i leave.

this is very true. i always smoke a cigarette after weed and the family doesnt know any better.

Yeah, she has me going to a guy like that, too. All we talk about their is our current grow set ups. (Yeah, he grows pot. haha) I guess he's like, the only good guy. But I suspect my mom is starting to realize his opinion on it, seeing as last time he came out with a NORML shirt on. lol

I'm sure they, as most parents, are the kind of morons who pretend-say things like "You're a big boy now, you're a young adult and your'e old enough to make your own decisions" and stupid shit like that, when you fuck up and are supposed to know which choice to make (because they dont want to help with anythign), but are really just saying "You're an invalid so we're going to treat you like one but we're going to pretend to give you leniency and let you make choices so you don't think we're constricting the rope too hard".

If that's the case, then tell them if they're gonna treat you like a four year old and take away your license to any kind of life, then atleast stop pretending they're not assholes, and stop pretending that they're trying to "help" you with something they know absolutely nothing about and are just afraid of because of misinformation they've been fed and believed like idiots since birth.

There's no way you can use logic with people like this. Anyone who would send their kid to a counselor for smoking herb is a moron and believes what people tell them WAY too easily. My parents would send me to a counselor, but they would do it because I asked them to because I had problems I wanted help with. Which would never happen, becaues I'm the type of mother fucker that can handle his own problems, and I have been since I was a kid, and that's because they raised me that way. Luckily I have parents who are intelligent and understand things when I tell them, and don't ignore what I say as if I were an invalid.

No, my parents are actually very liberal with what I do with my life. In fact, I brought up emancipation with my mother, and she said if that's what I wanted to do, she'd support me on it. She's like that with a lot of things. I told them I was an athiest at age 8, and the were fine. Last year, as a joke, I told them I was gay, and they could care less.

Their problem with pot just comes from their own unfortunate experience. Both of them started using it first, and then they fucked up and went on to other drugs and fucked themselves up pretty badly. They're convinced that that will happen to me. The difference is we were using it for totally different reasons, and they didn't know the consequences of those other drugs. I avoid negative consequences, and if it weren't for my parents being so unresonable, there would be practically none with weed. The only thing I can think of is money, and it's money well spent in my opinion. I just can't explain any of this to them. I think it has to do with AA. They just see too many people that fucked their lives up with pot, and when I talk about the people that do it and are fine with it, they always resort to this Russian Roulette analogy. "It's like playing russian roulette. You could become addicted to the high, and then what are you goind to do when you can't get high from weed anymore?" Them being drugs addicts just don't understand that's it's not the same for me. If I coudln't get high from weed before, I'd just take a long break. And in fact, I've done it before.


So, I can't really be angry with my parents, just disappointed that they will be this unreasonable.
