I used to have very bad bacne, I still have a little once in a while, but omstly now it is all scars. It's so bad, I'm happy the acne is gone, but there are all of these red and kind of purple circular scars all over my back where the acne used to be. Does anyone know of any good topical treatment that would be safe to use on my back that would help clear up the scars rather quickly? Thanks :)

i've heard vitamin e capsules work well... maybe even something like neosporin? be thankful they're not craters and are just colors, those will eventually go away even without creams.

Vitamin E oil. You can buy a small jar of it (usually comes in a small glass container) or in pill form, and break the capsules (takes a lot longer, might cost more, etc).

Vitamin E oil fades colour (red/purple) and breaks down/dissolves scar tissue, over time. EX - rubbing it into a raised red/purple scar will make the scar less-raised (possibly flat, over time) and fade it to a normal skin colour, but it might still be a bit lighter or darker coloured than your skin... at least it'll get rid of the red/purple colour.
Once or twice a day usually works. My sister used it on her (liver transplant) scars, and a year later, the scar/s are completely flat and just a bit darker than her skin... so I'd say if you use it regularly for a while, it works pretty good.

cocoa butter (or lotion made with it, more specifically) can help out too, though it works better on stretch marks than true scars.

Have you tried a suitable strength vitiman A acid gel or cream? Depending on the scarring, it can be just as good for that as it is for acne in general. (You may require a script for this )

Not sure what you used to kick the acne but ask your doc or derm about the scarring. Also know that sometimes there's not much that can be done.

try ask your pharmacist, i think there's something called bio med oil...or something like that :) apparantly that's the best stuff you can get

if you want to make your scars less noticeable in the meantime, a subtle fake tan works well. i'd recommend self-tan not bronzer, because self-tan lets you keep the colour even when the lotion's washed off... which means you can then apply something to sort out your scars (which, due to the fake tan, are nicely disguised ;))
