Does anyone have this disease and if so can you give me some info about it. I have a strong feeling I have it and that is why my health has been declining, well certain aspects of my health. But I have reason to believe I have hypothyroidism and am worried about my overall health and well being. So if anyone knows anyone that had it or even if you had it I would really like to know the typical symptoms and warning signs that you may have it. And what is the cure for it? Thanks.

The thyroid gland is in the neck and produces several hormones needed for growth and metabolism. HYPOthyroidism can be casued by drugs, disease. symptoms include weight gain, an enlarged thyroid gland and a heart rate that is very slow. Yur mind becomes sluggish over time. You feel cold all the time , your hair starts to get brittle and breaks easily. Accumulation of puffy tissue in the neck can cause your voice to deepen. Women may have heavy periods and sometimes lose interest in sex.
The only way to tell is to have a blood test to determine the blood levels of the thyroid hormones. Treatment is taking synthetic thyroid hormones. If you think this is your problem, you need to see a Doc.
